It’s Not Only What You Say, But How You Say It : Investigating the Potential of Prosodic Analysis as a Method to Study Teacher’s Talk

In this study, we introduce new insights into prosodic analyses as an emerging method to study what happens in classrooms interactions. We claim that the prosodic aspects (features of speech such as intonation, volume and pace) of talk are important, but under-represented in the learning sciences. These prosodic aspects may be used to complement, intensify or even reverse the linguistic content of speech. Aquest document vol donar a conèixer l'experiència duta a terme per un grup d'estudiants durant el desenvolupament d'un programa destinat a alumnes innovadors de la Universitat de València. La immersió actual de les tecnologies en tots els àmbits de la societat i en l'educació planteja noves incògnites sobre com es desenvolupen aquestes experiències educatives. El projecte presentat era enfocat als alumnes amb vista a desenvolupar un treball que relacionés les tecnologies de la informació i la comunicació (TIC) amb els contextos d'aprenentatge universitaris. Així, en l'article es presenten les experiències, vivències i conclusions a les quals s'ha arribat quan s'ha acabat el projecte.

Tämä pro gradu-tutkielmana laadittu materiaalipaketti yhdistää kielen ja sisällön oppimisen content and language integrated learning- eli CLIL-menetelmän avulla. CLIL:n keskeinen ajatus on, että opiskelija oppii kieltä toisen oppiaineen kautta. Autenttisten materiaalien käyttö sekä opiskelijoiden keskinäinen yhteistyö takaavat kielen implisiittisen oppimisen. Lisäksi opettajan tulisi kiinnittää opiskelijoiden huomio myös kielenoppimiseen explisiittisesti. Tukemaan CLIL-menetelmää valittiin yhteistoiminnallinen oppiminen. Koulutusjärjestelmät ovat kautta aikojen pyrkineet vastaamaan tarpeisiin, joita sen hetkinen maailma on sille luonut. Nykyaikana globalisaatio ja kansainvälistyminen ovat tuoneet omat haasteensa koulutusjärjestelmille. Vastineeksi näihin tarpeisiin on muodostunut erilaisia opetusmenetelmiä, joista yhtenä Suomeenkin levinnyt CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). CLIL on nimeke opetukselle, joka tapahtuu oppijalle vieraalla kielellä. CLIL:iä ei kuitenkaan tule sekoittaa perinteisiin kielikylpymenetelmiin tai kaksikieliseen opetukseen vaan sillä on omat erityispiirteensä. CLIL opetuksella on kaksoisfokus kieleen ja sisältöön.
