Hybrid blind robust image watermarking technique based on DFT-DCT and Arnold transform

In this paper, a robust blind image watermarking method is proposed for copyright protection of digital images. This hybrid method relies on combining two well-known transforms that are the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and the discrete cosine transform (DCT). The motivation behind this combination is to enhance the imperceptibility and the robustness. The imperceptibility requirement is achieved by using magnitudes of DFT coefficients while the robustness improvement is ensured by applying DCT to the DFT coefficients magnitude. Este artículo presenta un exhaustivo análisis del proceso judicial relativo al film Letty Lynton (1932), que, pese a ser un emblema del periodo clásico de Hollywood, fue prohibido en 1936, tras la denuncia de dos dramaturgos que acusaron a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer de haber plagiado una de sus obras. El pleito evidenció una complejidad en materia de infracción del copyright que la justicia estadounidense no había afrontado hasta el momento, entre otros motivos porque la cinta partía de unos hechos reales acontecidos durante el siglo XIX y la productora había adquirido los derechos de una novela que también los relataba. Is incidental re-creation likely to happen in pop music?

In this study we try to address the question, if independent (re-)creations are likely to happen in pop music. The interest in this topic stems from the fact that the claim of an “independent creation” is a common defense strategy in copyright infringement law suits. We conducted a main experiment in which subjects were asked to invent short, “catchy” pop melodies to a given backing track over a very common chord sequence (I VI IV V). Additionally, we incorporated 5 melodies from hit songs over the same chords in a comparable tempo. Measurement of W-pair production in $e^+ e^-$ collisions at 189 GeV

The production of W-pairs is analysed in a data sample collected by ALEPH at a mean centre-of-mass energy of 188.6 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 174.2 pb^-1. Cross sections are given for different topologies of W decays into leptons or hadrons. Combining all final states and assuming Standard Model branching fractions, the total W-pair cross section is measured to be 15.71 +- 0.34 (stat) +- 0.18 (syst) pb. Using also the W-pair data samples collected by ALEPH at lower centre-of-mass energies, the decay branching fraction of the W boson into hadrons is measured to be BR (W > hadrons) = 66.97 +- 0.65 (stat) +- 0.32 (syst) %, allowing a determination of the CKM matrix el…
