Il saggio indaga il tema degli eventi urbani internazionali come opportunità per generare spazi aperti e reti globali divenendo acceleratori di cosmopolitismo nelle città. A partire dal campo di sperimentazione che ha rappresentato la città di Palermo in particolare con l’esperienza di Manifesta 12, il contributo analizza la capacità degli eventi urbani di catalizzare non solo il turismo ma anche di promuovere la riattivazione della città attraverso trasformazioni mirate del patrimonio edilizio sottoutilizzato e inutilizzato e nuove forme di produzione.
Industrial Citizenship, Cosmopolitanism and European Integration

Abstract. There has been an explosion of interest in the idea of European Union citizenship in recent years, as a defining example of postnational cosmopolitan citizenship potentially replacing, or at least layered on top of national citizenships. We argue this form of EU citizenship undermines industrial citizenship, which is a crucial support for the egalitarianism and social solidarity on which other types of citizenship are based. Cosmopolitanism as a Potential Theoretical Solution to the Challenges of Globalised Urbanisation

This paper contributes to the effort to formulate strategies for approaching the challenges of twenty-first century “globalised urbanisation.” The paper hypothesises that cosmopolitanism might be seen as an option when trying to understand and resolve problems associated with globalised urbanisation within the scope of the United Nations’ Habitat III policy framework.
