The International Criminal Court (ICC) represents a criminal justice setting exceptionally welcoming to discourse scholars. The court website provides ample information about ongoing cases, hearings are livestreamed, and transcripts, video footage, and other relevant documents are available online. Against this background of comprehensive transparency, this paper explores the additional value of physically attending ICC trial hearings. Truth pluralism offers the latest extension in the tradition of substantive theorizing about truth. While various forms of this thesis are available, most frameworks commit to domain reliance. According to domain reliance, various ways of being true, such as coherence and correspondence, are tied to discourse domains rather than individual sentences. From this follows that the truth of different types of sentences is accounted for by their domain membership. Income and Career Concerns Among Emerging Adults From Finland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom During COVID-19

In this study, we examine the prevalence of income and career concerns among emerging adults in three different welfare states during COVID-19: Finland ( n = 309), Sweden ( n = 324), and the United Kingdom ( n = 343). This study also delves into how factors such as one’s self-perceived financial situation, generalized mistrust, loneliness and socio-demographics are related to emerging adults’ income and career concerns. Results showed that individuals from the United Kingdom were more likely to experience increased income and career concerns than those in Finland and Sweden. Mācību grāmatas ir vienas no visbiežāk izmantotiem materiāliem valodas apguvei. Šī darba mērķis ir analizēt eseju rakstīšanas uzdevumu veidus B2 līmenī. Mērķa sasniegšanai tika veikta satura analīze “High Note 4” un “Focus 4” mācību grāmatu komplektiem. Rezultāti parādīja, ka vairums uzdevumu ir eseju rakstīšana, kuros studentiem ir jāizstrādā rakstisks darbs vai jāieraksta trūkstošos saistvārdus esejās vai teikumos. Divu mācību grāmatu komplektu novērtējums parādīja, ka “Focus 4” un “High Note 4” studentu grāmatām, kā arī darba grāmatām ir atšķirības saturā un tā secības, uzdevumu skaita, eseju tēmu, pašpārbaudes uzdevumu ziņā. Gendered Work-life Ideologies among IT Professionals

The study investigates the discourses IT professionals use to produce work–life relations. We focus on work–life ideologies and explore the agencies produced, as well as whether and how they are gendered. Our data were collected in interviews with 24 women and men working in the IT industry in Finland. Our results show, first, that work–life relations were constructed discursively through two different work–life ideologies, and second, that these ideologies produced different gendered agencies in reconciling work with life. Przyjmując założenie o aktywnej roli języka w profilowaniu rzeczywistości danego dyskursu, w niniejszym artykule ukazano charakterystyczne praktyki dyskursywne stosowane powszechnie przez media wiązane z niemiecką Nową Prawicą w ich relacjonowaniu problematyki kryzysu migracyjnego oraz uchodźców. W oparciu o wybrane płaszczyzny modelu DIMEAN analizie poddane zostały internetowe wersje czasopisma „Junge Freiheit” oraz magazynu „Compact”.
