The present five-wave longitudinal study investigated the cross-lagged associations between young adults’ life satisfaction and study/work engagement over the transition from post-comprehensive studies to higher education or work during the second and third decades of life. Gender, educational track, academic performance and family socioeconomic status were also examined. The study is part of the longitudinal Finnish Educational Transitions (FinEdu) study, and used data from secondary education onwards, following 821 participants from age 17 to 25. In this article, we explore the internal conversations about the work values of young unemployed adults in Finland. We draw on the theoretical concept of internal conversation by Margaret Archer in order to shift the focus from the individual work values to the interplay between subjective concerns and structural circumstances. Young women’s contradictory expectations and their perceived capabilities for future work-family reconciliation in Finland

This paper explores young women’s expectations on future work-family reconciliation in Finland, a Nordic country well-known for the promotion of gender equality. Utilising Sen’s capabilities approach, we content-analysed thirty individual interviews to identify differences in women’s expectations and their perceived capabilities in future work and care. The results showed that irrespective of their labour market status and educational attainment, the women’s expectations were contradictory, reflecting a current Finnish gender culture that embraces both the ideal of shared parenthood and the primacy of maternal care. This article explores socially withdrawn young Finnish people on an Internet forum who identify with the Japanese hikikomori phenomenon. We aim to overcome the dualism between sociology and psychology found in earlier research by referring to Pierre Bourdieu, who provides insights into how individual choices are constructed in accordance with wider social settings. Cette recherche a pour objet d'étudier l'intégration de l'Enseignement Assisté par Ordinateur (EAO) dans la formation en cours d'emploi. L'étude s'articule en deux parties, théorique et pratique. En premier lieu, elle montre l'importance d'une approche en termes d'efficacité interne de la formation, et donc d'une analyse du rapport coût-efficacité. Appréhender le rapport coût-efficacité signifie aborder la structure et la problématique générale des coûts de l'EAO. International audience; À travers l’exemple de la Chambre des comptes de Bretagne des années 1540 à la fin du règne de Louis XIV et surtout de l’étude de son personnel, cet ouvrage contribue à la connaissance des chambres des comptes et dégage quelques ressorts de la « société d’offices » qui s’est mise en place en France à partir du XVIe siècle. Ces chambres ont attiré tout au long de l’époque moderne une part des élites du royaume, en quête d’honneur et d’épices, qui voulaient bénéficier de privilèges dont principalement celui de l’anoblissement graduel.
