Innovative pragmatic codes in Ugandan English : a relevance-theoretic account

Sperber & Wilson 1986, Wilson & Sperber 2004). Wilson & Sperber (2004) state that an utterance is optimally relevant if it is worth the hearer’s processing effort, and if it is compatible with the speaker’s linguistic abilities and preferences. In Italy the University structure and degree courses changed dramatically in 2001, moving from degrees of five years, plus three years of Ph.D., to two levels of degree: a first level of three years, plus, eventually, a second level of two years and the unchanged Ph.D. This “revolution” explains the lack of information in some topics and leaves the possibility of further changes in the number, titles and contents of the degrees presented in this paper.

Valodnieki jau iepriekš ir pētījuši ne tikai darbības vārda laiku un aspektu angļu valodā, bet arī darbības vārda izteiksmi, tādējādi izanalizējot precīzu darbības vārdu laika un aspekta pielietojumu un veicot iegūto rezultātu apkopojumu. Ir veikti vairāki pētījumi, kas koncentrējas un darbības vārda un aspekta lietojumu angļu valodas kā pirmās svešvalodas apguvē un kas piedāvā studentiem skaidras darbības vārdu laika un aspekta vadlīnijas vieglākai angļu valodas apguvei. Iepriekšējie pētījumi par modalitātes lietojumu laikrakstu rakstos atklāja, ka žurnālisti mēdz ietekmēt lasītājus un sniegt faktu subjektīvu interpretāciju, kad tiek gaidīts objektīvs notikumu atspoguļojums. Tāpēc šī darba mērķis bija analizēt modalitātes lietojumu septiņpadsmit tiešsaistes laikrakstu rakstos divos Lielbritānijas un divos ASV laikrakstos par Brexit. Pētījumā izmantotās metodes ir diskursa analīze un statistiskā analīze. Rezultāti liecina, ka visvairāk lietotais modālais darbības vārds abu valstu laikrakstos ir will, kas izteica pārliecības nozīmi ar pierādījumu palīdzību, un norādīja, ka priekšroka tiek dota patiesībai.
