From the Shadow of a Myth to an Academic Subject : Teaching Writing from a Cognitive Base
2021
In order to truly understand one’s teaching methods and share them with others, one first needs to understand what has been done in the past. The aim is to become conscious of habits, models and attitudes that have become a part of local lore – either in studies of creative writing or in the education system in general. One way to do this is to read creative writing guides written in different periods of time. This paper examines Finnish writing guides published since 1900. It also shows how teaching creative writing slowly became possible in Finland. Finally, the article describes how the historical situation, writing guides and academic tradition influenced the practice of teaching writin…

Development of 4Cs, Deeper Learning and Metacognitive Strategies
2020
Creativity, Critical thinking, Collaboration and Communication are four of the key components of 21st century learning. The 4Cs approach aims to promote autonomous and confident learners through what is often described as a noticing and questioning pedagogy. The geography of creative industries in Europe: comparing France, Great Britain, Italy and Spain
2012
The creative economy is a holistic and multidisciplinary concept that deals with the interaction between economics, culture and technology, and centred on the production of creative contents in goods and services. One of the most relevant dimensions of creativity is the territorial one. Despite the emphasis put on the theoretical definition of creativity, the measurement of creative industries and the use of these concepts in macro units as well as in isolated case studies, it is necessary to strengthen comparative research for the identification and analysis of the kind of creativity embedded in the territory, its determinants and its patterns of concentration. This compared research relie…
Effects of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation on Brain Networks Related to Creative Thinking

The present study was designed to examine the changes in functional connectivity (FC) and effective connectivity (EC) of the large-scale brain network, and the ensuing changes in creative performance, induced by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). Fourteen healthy male students underwe…
