Syntheses, crystal structures, and magnetic properties of metal-organic hybrid materials of Mn(II)/Co(II): three-fold interpenetrated alpha-polonium-…

2014

Three new 1,4-phenylenediacrylate bridged Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes of molecular formulas {[Mn2(ppda)(phen)4(H2O)2](ppda)2(H2O)} (1), {[Co(ppda)- (dpyo)(H2O)3]·4(H2O)}n (2), and {[Co(ppda)(bpe)]·(0.5H2O)}n (3) [ppda = 1,4- phenylenediacrylate; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; dpyo = 4,4′-dipyridyl N,N′-dioxide; bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies, and low-temperature magnetic measurements. The structural determination reveals that complex 1 is a discrete dinuclear species, 2 is a 1D polymeric chain, while 3 is a three-fold interpenetrated α-polonium network. Hydrogen-bonding interact…

(Dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine)(glycinato)copper(II) perchlorate: a novel DNA-intercalator with anti-proliferative activity against thyroid cancer…

2012

Abstract A novel copper(II) heteroleptic complex of dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine (dppz) and glycinato (gly) as chelating ancillary ligand, [Cu(dppz)(gly)]ClO 4 ( 1 ), was synthesized and characterized. X-ray crystallography revealed that the coordination geometry of the cationic [Cu(dppz)(gly)] + unit is hexacoordinated and shows a distorted octahedral coordination geometry in the solid state, with the N,N and N,O chelating atoms of dppz and glycinato, respectively, in the square plane and in which the planar units are connected in a monodimensional polymeric array by the apical copper coordination of the second carboxylic oxygen atom. Biological assays showed that 1 exhibits a remarkab…

Semiconductor Porous Hydrogen-Bonded Organic Frameworks Based on Tetrathiafulvalene Derivatives.

2022

Herein, we report on the use of tetrathiavulvalene-tetrabenzoic acid, H4TTFTB, to engender semiconductivity in porous hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs). By tuning the synthetic conditions, three different polymorphs have been obtained, denoted MUV-20a, MUV-20b, and MUV-21, all of them presenting open structures (22, 15, and 27%, respectively) and suitable TTF stacking for efficient orbital overlap. Whereas MUV-21 collapses during the activation process, MUV-20a and MUV-20b offer high stability evacuation, with a CO2 sorption capacity of 1.91 and 1.71 mmol g-1, respectively, at 10 °C and 6 bar. Interestingly, both MUV-20a and MUV-20b present a zwitterionic character with a positively…

Conception et synthèse de nouvelles sondes fluorogéniques à coeur Bodipy pour la détection

2020

Therefore this project is aimed at the development of novel improved multi-analyte fluorogenic probes for heavy metals ions and bioanalytes within the framework “AND” fluorescent molecular logic gates concept. The biothiols and cations of Cd(II), Pb(II), Cr(III) and Cu(II) heavy metals will be selected as the targeted analytes. To the best of our knowledge, no “AND” molecular logic gates using metal ions besides Zn(II), Hg(II), Ca(II) inputs, likewise no multi-analyte probes for biothiols along with heavy metal cations, has been described in the literature. While the development of a highly sensitive and selective recognition of thiols and metal cations has emerged as a significant interest…

Spin Crossover Iron(II) Coordination Polymer Chains: Syntheses, Structures, and Magnetic Characterizations of [Fe(aqin) 2 (μ 2 -M(CN) 4 )] (M = Ni(II…

2014

International audience; New Fe(II) coordination polymeric neutral chains of formula [Fe(aqin)2(μ2-M(CN)4)] (M = NiII (1) and PtII (2)) (aqin = Quinolin-8-amine) have been synthesized and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and magnetic measurements. The crystal structure determinations of 1–2 reveal in both cases a one-dimensional structure in which the planar [M(CN)4]2– (M = NiII (1) and PtII (2)) anion acts as a μ2-bridging ligand, and the two aqin molecules as chelating coligands. Examination of the intermolecular contacts in the two compounds reveals that the main contacts are ascribed to hydrogen bonding interactions involving the amine groups of the aqin chelati…

Spectroscopic analysis of vibronic relaxation pathways in molecular spin qubit [Ho(W5O18)2]9−: sparse spectra are key

2021

Molecular vibrations play a key role in magnetic relaxation processes of molecular spin qubits as they couple to spin states, leading to the loss of quantum information. Direct experimental determination of vibronic coupling is crucial to understand and control the spin dynamics of these nano-objects, which represent the limit of miniaturization for quantum devices. Herein, we measure the vibrational properties of the molecular spin qubit $[$Ho(W$_5$O$_{18}$)$_2]^{9-}$ by means of magneto-infrared spectroscopy. Our results allow us to unravel the vibrational decoherence pathways in combination with $ab$ $initio$ calculations including vibronic coupling. We observe field-induced spectral cha…

A influência do método de armazenamento na transparência do cristalino de porco

2019

Este artículo se ha publicado de forma definitiva en: http://www.scielo.br/pdf/abo/v82n1/0004-2749-abo-82-01-0056.pdf Purpose: The porcine eye is frequently used as a research model. This paper analyzes the effect of different storage methods on the transparency of pig crystalline lens. Methods: A spectral transmission curve (from 220 to 780 nm) for the crystalline lens was determined experimentally after storage in different conditions: saline solution, formalin, castor oil, and freezing at -80°C. The total transmission in the visible spectrum, which was used as an index of transparency, was calculated from these curves. For comparative purposes, fresh lenses were evaluated and used as con…

Hybrid multiple diffraction in semipolar wurtzite materials: (0112)-oriented ZnMgO/ZnO heterostructures as an illustration

2017

X-ray diffraction has been widely used to characterize the structural properties (strain and structural quality) of semiconductor heterostructures. This work employs hybrid multiple diffraction to analyze r-oriented Zn1xMgxO layers grown by molecular beam epitaxy on ZnO substrates. In such a low-symmetry material system, additional features appear in symmetric reflection scans, which are described as arising from hybrid multiple diffraction. First, the Bragg conditions necessary for these high-order processes to occur are introduced and applied to explain all the observed satellite reflections, identify the planes that contribute and compute a priori the angles at which they are observed. F…

Inside Cover: Exploiting Reaction-Diffusion Conditions to Trigger Pathway Complexity in the Growth of a MOF

2021

How do you unveil pathway complexity in a crystallization process? In their Research Article on page 15920, Alessandro Sorrenti, Marco D′Abramo, Guillermo Mínguez Espallargas, Josep Puigmartí-Luis, and co-workers show that harnessing a reaction-diffusion (RD) process within a continuous flow microfluidic device, and on a millisecond timescale, is key to enable two unprecedented nucleation-growth pathways during a MOF synthesis.

New insights on the electronic, magnetic, electric and molecular structure of a bis-(4-cyanopyridine) iron(III) complex with the meso-tetrakis(4-meth…

2019

International audience; We have successfully synthesized and characterized a new low-spin iron(III) bis(4-cyanopyridine) complex with a meso-porphyrin substituted in the para positions of the phenyls by the methoxy group, namely the bis(4-cyanopyridine)[(meso-tetrakis(4-metoxyphenylporphyrinato)]iron(III) trifluoromethanesulfonate chlorobenzene monosolvate complex with the formula [FeIII(TMPP)(4-CNpy)2]SO3CF3.C6H5Cl (I). This species was characterized through ultraviolet–visible, Fourier-transform infrared and Mössbauer spectroscopy as well as by SQUID magnetometry, cyclic voltammetry, and X-ray crystallography. These characterizations indicated that our synthetic heme model is a low-spin (…
