Abstract We report the synthesis, the single-crystal X-ray crystallographic structures and the magnetic properties of three new isostructural cyanido-bridged networks: [M IV {(μ-CN) 4 Mn II (H 2 O) 2 } 2 ·4H 2 O] n [M IV  = Nb IV ( 1 ), Mo IV ( 2 ), W IV ( 3 )]. For compound 1 , the magnetic properties reveal a ferrimagnetic phase below 50 K. In contrast, compounds 2 and 3 show a paramagnetic behaviour with no magnetic ordering down to 2 K. AbstractTo build a forecasting tool for the state of eutrophication in the Archipelago Sea, we fitted a Generalized Additive Mixed Model (GAMM) to marine environmental monitoring data, which were collected over the years 2011–2019 by an automated profiling buoy at the Seili ODAS-station. The resulting “Seili-index” can be used to predict the chlorophyll-α (chl-a) concentration in the seawater a number of days ahead by using the temperature forecast as a covariate. An array of test predictions with two separate models on the 2019 data set showed that the index is adept at predicting the amount of chl-a especially in the upper water layer. A case report is presented to illustrate the cutaneous manifestations in essential thrombocythaemia. Knowledge of the related skin lesions may lead to earlier detection of this myeloproliferative disorder. Treatment may prevent severe haemorrhagic or thrombotic complications. Erythromelalgia is causally related to thrombocythaemia; prompt relief of painful symptoms after treatment with aspirin is typical.

Transcatheter embolization of the kidney with butyl-2-cyanoacrylate: Experimental and clinical results

The technique and efficacy of therapeutic catheter embolization of the kidney with butyl-2-cyanoacrylate (Histoacryl) were studied in 80 rabbits (including control groups) and in 10 dogs. A mixture of butyl-2-cyanoacrylate, 50% glucose, and tantalum powder was used for the embolization. Complete and permanent vascular occlusion was found in nearly all cases. The main complication observed was a reflux of embolizing material into the lumbar arteries, which occurred in seven rabbits. Clinically, therapeutic embolization was performed in six patients with hypernephroma.
