Hydrogen bonding interaction of N5H with water: A first principle calculations

Abstract The cyclopentazol (N5H) and its anion counterpart (N5–) have been studied extensively over the years and detected in the gas phase as well as in solution recently. In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to understand the interaction with water molecule using first principle calculations. Nature of interactions have been studied using both energy decomposition analysis and atoms in molecule (AIM) theory calculations. Further, the strength of non-covalent interactions were analysed using IGMplots.

First moments of the nucleon generalized parton distributions from lattice QCD

2012

We report on our lattice calculations of the nucleon's generalized parton distributions (GPDs), concentrating on their first moments for the case of N_f=2. Due to recent progress on the numerical side we are able to present results for the generalized form factors at pion masses as low as 260 MeV. We perform a fit to one-loop covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory with encouraging results.

Climatic conditions influence emerging mycotoxin presence in wheat grown in Romania – A 2-year survey

Abstract The correlation between the occurrence of four enniatins (ENA, ENA1, ENB, and ENB1) and beauvericin (BEA) and the weather parameters during anthesis and preharvest period was studied in 97 wheat samples collected in 2014 and 2015 across three counties from central and south Romania (Brasov, Dâmboviţa, and Teleorman). The highest mean values of ENA (16.1 μg kg −1 ) and ENB (147.1 μg kg −1 ) were measured in the samples from Brasov county in the harvest year 2015, whereas for ENA1 and ENB1 the highest means (55.2 μg kg −1 , and 108.0 μg kg −1 , respectively) were noted in samples from Teleorman county in 2014. Towards Atomically Precise Supported Catalysts from Monolayer‐Protected Clusters: The Critical Role of the Support

Abstract Controlling the size and uniformity of metal clusters with atomic precision is essential for fine‐tuning their catalytic properties, however for clusters deposited on supports, such control is challenging. Here, by combining X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations, it is shown that supports play a crucial role in the evolution of monolayer‐protected clusters into catalysts. Based on the acidic nature of the support, cluster‐support interactions lead either to fragmentation of the cluster into isolated Au–ligand species or ligand‐free metallic Au0 clusters. A novel MALDI-MS approach for the analysis of neutral metallosupramolecular architectures

Matrix assisted laser desorption/ionisation mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) methods have been developed for the characterisation of neutral [2×2] metallogrids derived fromdiimine, dihydrazone and diacylhydrazone ligands. Such grids may be protonated in solution to give cationic species but in most cases these are labile, so that rather delicate conditions are required for observation of the intact metallogrids as monoprotonated derivatives in the gas phase. Abstract New iron(II) coordination polymeric neutral chain of formula [Fe(abpt) 2 (μ-M(CN) 4 )], with M = Pt II ( 1 ), Ni II ( 2 ) and abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole, have been synthesized and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. The two compounds are isostructural as deduced from a Rietveld analysis of X-ray powder diffraction data of 2 simulated from the single crystal structure of 1 . TiO2 Nanoparticles Functionalized with Non-innocent Ligands Allow Oxidative Photocyanation of Amines with Visible/Near-Infrared Photons

Photosynthesis is an efficient mechanism for converting solar light energy into chemical energy. We report on a strategy for the aerobic photocyanation of tertiary amines with visible and near-infrared (NIR) light. Panchromatic sensitization was achieved by functionalizing TiO2 with a 2-methylisoquinolinium chromophore, which captures essential features of the extended π-system of 2,7-diazapyrenium (DAP2+) dications or graphitic carbon nitride. Interplay of hydrogen bonding and π–π interactions in the molecular complex of 2,6-lutidine N-oxide and water

Abstract The crystal and molecular structure of 2,6-lutidine N-oxide monohydrate (1) has been determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Each water molecule is acting as bridging ligand between the N→O moieties of two 2,6-lutidine N-oxide molecules through moderate strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding (O–H⋯O, O⋯O distances are 2.787(2) and 2.832 (2) A) giving rise to a one-dimensional (1D) polymeric helical chain. A two-dimensional (2D) layered network is then formed by self-assembly of 1D helical chains via strong π–π interactions of the aromatic rings (interplanar distances 3.385 A). New soluble and intensely near-IR-absorbing transition metal (Ti, Zr, V, Ni) complexes were synthesized using a redox non-innocent N,N’-bis(3,5-di-tertbutyl-2-hydroxy-phenyl) -1,2-phenylenediamine (H4L) as a ligand precursor. In all the complexes, ([Ti(Lox)2, [Zr(Lox)2], [V(Lsq1)(HLox)] and [Ni(HLox)2], two organic molecules coordinate to the metal center as tri- or tetradentate ligands. The solid-state structures of the complexes were determined using single crystal XRD, and the compounds were further characterized with Electrospray Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS). One-Pot Synthesis to Quinone-Based Diaza[3.3]cyclophanes

A simple one-pot synthesis to [3.3]cyclophanes that involves quinone moieties was found. The protocol tolerates a variety of amines that include aliphatic and aromatic structures with different functional groups, such as hydroxy groups, amides, and terminal double and triple bonds. The straightforward synthesis can be performed by a twofold N-alkylation reaction with 2,5-bis(bromomethyl)-3,6-dimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone (1). Neither anhydrous nor inert conditions are required. Various amines can be employed without any activating groups, several functionalities at end groups are tolerated, and the cyclophanes generated can be easily modified or embedded into larger molecular architectures.
