Modelling the relationship between sexual reproduction and rhizome growth in Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile

The relationship between flowering and growth performance of Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile in meadows distributed along the south-eastern coast of Sicily (Italy) was investigated by means of a statistical model (generalized linear mixed model) combined with the lepidochronological analysis. Over a 28-year period, 67 floral stalk remains were observed. The highest flowering index was recorded in lepidochronological year 1998 (10.1%) and the Inflorescence Frequency per age showed a clear decrease corresponding to 15-year-old shoots. International audience; Understanding the relationships among geography, climate, and genetics is increasingly important for animal farming and breeding. In this study, we examine these inter-relationships in the context of local cattle and sheep breeds distributed along the Italian territory. To this aim, we used redundancy analysis on genomic data from previous projects combined with geographical coordinates and corresponding climatic data. The effect of geographic factors (latitude and longitude) was more important in sheep (26.4%) than that in cattle (13.8%). Tämän tutkimuksen lähtökohtana toimi kohdeorganisaatiossa koettu tarve sisäisen viestinnän kehittämiseksi ja avoimuuden vahvistamiseksi. Kohdeorganisaationa oli eräs Väli-Suomen julkishallinnon asiantuntijaorganisaatio, jonka toiminta perustui pitkälti palveluiden tuottamiseen ja jossa sisäisen viestinnän haluttiin jatkossa painottavan perinteisen tiedonkulun sijaan ennemmin avointa vuorovaikutusta, osallistumismahdollisuuksia sekä tiedon jakamista ja sen kollektiivista rakentamista.
