Quantifier Elimination and Rectilinearisation Theorem for Generalised Quasianalytic Algebras

2013

International audience; An algebra of germs of real functions is generalised quasianalytic if to each element of the algebra we can associate, injectively, a power series with nonnegative real exponents. We prove a quantifier elimination and a rectilinearisation result for generalised quasianalytic algebras.

Insurance mechanisms for tropical cyclones and droughts in Pacific Small Island Developing States

2016

One group of locations significantly affected by climate-related losses and damage is the Small Island Developing States (SIDS). One mechanism aiming to reduce such adverse impacts is insurance, with a wide variety of products and models available. Insurance for climate-related hazards affecting Pacific SIDS has not been investigated in detail. This article contributes to filling this gap by exploring how insurance mechanisms might be implemented in the Pacific SIDS for tropical cyclones and droughts. The study examines opportunities and constraints or limitations of some existing insurance mechanisms and programmes as applied to the Pacific SIDS. Eight insurance mechanisms are compared and…

SAT0374 IL-36A Axis is Modulated in Patients with Primary Sjogren's Syndrome and Implicated in the Regulation of Gamma-Delta T Cells Immune Functions

2015

Background IL-36a is a cytokine that predominantly acts on naive CD4+ T cells and gamma-delta T cells via the IL-36 receptor. IL-36a has been recently demonstrated to be involved in human disease, such as psoriasis, by modulating innate and adaptive immune responses. Objectives In this study we aimed to investigate the expression of IL-36 axis and to assess the role of γδ T cells in patients with primary Sjogren9s syndrome (pSS). Methods Blood and minor labial salivary glands (MSG) biopsies were obtained from 35 pSS and 20 nSS patients. Serum IL-36a was assayed by ELISA. IL-36a, IL-36R, IL-36RA, IL-38, IL-22, IL-17, IL-23p19, expression in MSGs was assessed by rt-PCR and tissue IL-36a and I…

The recipient CYP2D6 allele 4-associated poor metabolizer status correlates with an early fibrosis development after liver transplantation

2011

Summary CYP2D6 is part of the cytochrome P450 system, which catalyzes biotransformation of endogenous substrates and xenobiotics. Approximately 10% of the Caucasian population has two null alleles, resulting in a poor metabolizer (PM) status. Mostly, allele four (CYP2D6*4) is responsible for the PM status, which is suspected to be associated with an accelerated fibrosis progression (FP). The aim of the present study was to analyze the role of the CYP2D6*4 genotype for FP after liver transplantation (LT). Genotypes were determined in liver biopsies (donor) and peripheral blood (recipient) by fluorescence resonance energy transfer. Data were correlated with clinical variables and risk factors…

The relevance of the French rural policy by the yardstick of the theories of justice

2010

The relevance of the French rural policy by the yardstick of the theories of justice How to evaluate the relevance of the French rural policy ? When the question is to what extent the objectives of the policy are reached owing to public interventions, the method is relatively well known. However, when the question is to what extent these objectives are relevant, an important problem is faced : the referential of this evaluation is indefinite. In this article, we propose to define this referential on the basis of moral and political philosophy : The objectives are relevant if they are derived from a conception of justice that is itself relevant. From this viewpoint, the relevance of the curr…

On the tensor degree of finite groups

2013

We study the number of elements $x$ and $y$ of a finite group $G$ such that $x \otimes y= 1_{_{G \otimes G}}$ in the nonabelian tensor square $G \otimes G$ of $G$. This number, divided by $|G|^2$, is called the tensor degree of $G$ and has connection with the exterior degree, introduced few years ago in [P. Niroomand and R. Rezaei, On the exterior degree of finite groups, Comm. Algebra 39 (2011), 335--343]. The analysis of upper and lower bounds of the tensor degree allows us to find interesting structural restrictions for the whole group.

OP0081 Aberrant Expression of IL-22RA1 on Hematopoietic Cells as Immunologically Signature of Primary Sjogren’s Syndrome and Sjogren-Associated Non-H…

2013

Background Interleukin (IL)-22 is a potent mediator of cellular inflammatory responses that has been recently reported to play a role in the pathogenesis of primary Sjogren’s Syndrome (p-SS) (1, 2) and of T and B lymphomas. IL-22 biological activity is initiated by binding to a cell-surface complex composed of two subunits, IL-22R1 and IL-10R2 receptor chains, and further regulated by interactions with a soluble binding protein, IL-22BP. Unlike the IL-10R2, which is constitutively expressed in many human tissues, IL-22R1 is not detectable in immune cells. Objectives Aim of this study was to better characterize the role of IL-22 axis in the pathogenesis of p-SS and p-SS-associated lymphomas.…
