The article concerns potential harmful effects of exposure to lead. Although the occurrence of severe lead poisoning has receded in several countries, occupational exposure resulting in moderate and clinically symptomatic toxicity is still common. An earlier and precise characterization of an individual response is obligatory in order to assess the possible risks for human health. ABSTRACT Seckel syndrome is a type of microcephalic primordial dwarfism (MPD) that is characterized by growth retardation and neurodevelopmental defects, including reports of retinopathy. To the Editor: We read with great interest the retrospective case series by A Madide and J Smith,[1] describing brain ultrasound (US) findings of neonates with Serratia marcescens hospital-acquired infections. S. marcescens is a Gram-negative organism that frequently colonises neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Il saggio propone una riflessione su quelle che appaiono come le nuove frontiere della discussa categoria del danno esistenziale che, seppure formalmente abbandonata, continua, secondo l’autore, a riconoscersi dietro la diversa etichetta del « danno dinamico relazionale ».
