Il saggio propone un'analisi del carteggio di Carlo Emilio Gadda con l’«Ammonia Casale», che costituisce un osservatorio d’eccezione da cui mettere a fuoco le contraddizioni dello scrittore-ingegnere. L’epistolario comprende 54 messaggi di Gadda e 26 dell’«Ammonia Casale S.A.» e copre l’arco di tempo decisivo che va dall’aprile 1927 al gennaio del 1940 (con una lunga interruzione tra l’autunno del 1931 e la primavera del 1936): sono gli anni cruciali dell’apprendistato letterario, in cui il romanziere fa le sue prime prove pubbliche. The aim of the paper is a search of feminist pragmatist roots of degrowth ideas. The starting point is the question of whether in views of the members of the Progressive Movement the idea of progress has always implied the economic (and industrial) growth. Searching for counter-examples leads me to ideas of ecofeminism and feminist critics of capitalism in the previous turn of the centuries. The ideas of ecofeminism were developed by women associated with the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago and the social settlement Hull House. Abstract Cleavage of membrane-associated L-selectin regulates leukocyte rolling on vascular endothelium at sites of inflammation. We report that rapid and massive shedding of L-selectin occurs from granulocytes attacked by the pore-forming bacterial toxin streptolysin O (SLO). Shedding was not induced by an SLO mutant that retained binding capacity but lacked pore-forming activity. Cells permeabilized with SLO exhibited a 1.5-fold increase in the activity of neutral sphingomyelinase, which was accompanied by increased ceramide formation. In 1999, a new law on Danish language education came into force. In this law, the final examinations in Danish were introduced and set under national governance, and the requirements were defined. [EN] Agro-hydrological models are considered an economic and simple tool for quantifying crop water requirements. In the last two decades, agro-hydrological physically based models have been developed to simulate mass and energy exchange processes in the soil-plant-atmosphere system. Although very reliable, because of the high number of required variables, simplified models have been proposed to quantify crop water consumes.
