En el primer capítulo se describe el envejecimiento de la población en el que nos encontramos actualmente y analizamos el concepto de dependencia, haciendo referencia tanto al propio término como a los desencadenantes de la limitación funcional y a los principales tipos de apoyo. Se hará referencia también al mito del envejecimiento como sinónimo de dependencia y al marco legislativo en el que se enmarcan las personas dependientes. Además, analizaremos la relación entre el cuidado familiar y los recursos comunitarios. Līdzatkarības, pašdiferencācijas un personības iezīmju savstarpējā saistība sievietēm

Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai pastāv savstarpēja saistība starp līdzatkarību, pašdiferencāciju un personības iezīmēm sievietēm. Pētījumā piedalījās 113 sievietes (N = 113), vecumā no 20 līdz 30 gadiem (M = 24,5, SD = 3,23), kuras ir vismaz 1 gadu ilgās romantiskās attiecībās. Respondenti aizpildīja trīs aptaujas: Līdzatkarības noteikšanas aptauju, Lielā Piecinieka Aptauju (BFI) un Pašdiferencācijas aptauju - Īso versiju (DSI-SF), kura tika adaptēta latviešu valodā bakalaura darba ietvaros. Personības iezīmju, stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju un emociju regulācijas saistība indivīdiem ar depresijas simptomiem

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādas saistības pastāv starp personības iezīmēm, emociju regulācijas stratēģijām un stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijām indivīdiem ar depresijas simptomiem. Tāpat mērķis bija noskaidrot, kuri no personības iezīmju, emociju regulācijas un stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju faktoriem vislabāk prognozē depresijas simptomu pazīmes. Un visbeidzot - vai pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības personības iezīmju, emociju regulācijas un stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju rādītājiem indivīdiem ar depresijas simptomiem un indivīdiem bez depresijas simptomiem. The emergence of pathogenic bacteria resistant to multiple antibiotics is a serious worldwide public health concern. Whenever antibiotics are applied, the genes encoding for antibiotic resistance are selected for within bacterial populations. This has led to the prevalence of conjugative plasmids that carry resistance genes and can transfer themselves between diverse bacterial groups. Abstract OBJECTIVE: First, to assess the appropriateness of requests for albumin using current guidelines; second, to evaluate physicians' compliance with this protocol. DESIGN: Descriptive, prospective study. SETTING: 'Paolo Giaccone' University Hospital in Palermo (Italy). PARTICIPANTS: The six departments with the highest orders for albumin. INTERVENTION: An experimental, pharmacist-driven process for daily orders of albumin was activated over a period of 1 month. Pharmacy personnel handed out order forms on six different wards. Beneficial coinfection can promote within-host viral diversity

Abstract In many viral infections, a large number of different genetic variants can coexist within a host, leading to more virulent infections that are better able to evolve antiviral resistance and adapt to new hosts. But how is this diversity maintained? Why do faster-growing variants not outcompete slower-growing variants, and erode this diversity? One hypothesis is if there are mutually beneficial interactions between variants, with host cells infected by multiple different viral genomes producing more, or more effective, virions.
