A nonstandard Volterra integral equation on time scales

Abstract This paper introduces the more general result on existence, uniqueness and boundedness for solutions of nonstandard Volterra type integral equation on an arbitrary time scales. We use Lipschitz type function and the Banach’s fixed point theorem at functional space endowed with a suitable Bielecki type norm. Furthermore, it allows to get new sufficient conditions for boundedness and continuous dependence of solutions.

Scale-dependent plant diversity in Palaearctic grasslands: a comparative overview

Here we present an extensive overview of plant diversity values in Palaearctic grasslands for seven standard grain sizes from 0.0001 to 100 m². The data originate from 20 studies, including the Field Workshops of the Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG), ranging geographically from Spain in the west to Siberia in the east, from Sicily in the south to Estonia in the north and from the sea coast up to 3100 m a.s.l. The majority of data is from dry grasslands (Festuco-Brometea, Koelerio-Corynephoretea, Cleistogenetea squarrosae), but there are also some mesic, wet, saline, acidic, alpine and Mediterranean grasslands included. Assessing plant diversity and composition in grasslands across spatial scales: the standardised EDGG sampling methodology

This paper presents the details of the EDGG sampling methodology and its underlying rationales. The methodology has been applied during EDGG Research Expeditions and EDGG Field Workshops since 2009, and has been subsequently adopted by various other researchers. The core of the sampling are the EDGG Biodiversity Plots, which are 100‐m2 squares comprising, in two opposite corners, nested‐plot series of 0.0001, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1 and 10 m2 square plots, in which all terricolous vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens are recorded using the shoot presence method. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot iespējamo saistību starp profesionālu sportistu brīvprātīgu vai nebrīvprātīgu karjeras pāreju un depresijas, trauksmes un stresa rādītājiem. Saistības noskaidrošanai tika veikts korelāciju pētījums un izmantota depresijas, trauksmes un stresa skala (DASS21, Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995, adaptācija latviešu valodā Vanags & Raščevska, 2015) stresa, trauksmes un depresijas rādītāju noteikšanai. OBJECTIVE Despite limited evidence, electrical cardioversion of acute-onset atrial fibrillation (AAF) is widely performed in the emergency department (ED). The aim of this study was to describe the effectiveness and safety of electrical cardioversion of AAF performed by emergency physicians in the ED. METHODS All episodes of AAF electrically cardioverted in the ED were retrieved from the database for a 10-year period. Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy (TIRFM) greatly facilitates to imaging the first steps of endocytosis, a process whereby cells traffic cargo from the cell surface to endosomes. Using TIRFM, fluorescent-tagged endocytic proteins are observed as overlapped areas forming random clumps of different sizes, shapes and durations. A common procedure to segment these objects consists of thresholding the original gray-level images to produce binary sequences in which a pixel is covered or not by a given fluorescent-tagged protein.
