NON E ` COLPA MIA! ALLA RICERCA DELLA COLPEVOLEZZA PERDUTA NELLA RESPONSABILITA` “DA REATO” DEGLI ENTI COLLETTIVI
2018
The work deals with the issue of the liability of legal persons dependent on crime, focusing the investigation on the profiles of culpability as a paradigm for defining the responsibility in criminal terms or of a different legal matrix.

Interactive effects of past and present environments on overwintering success - A reciprocal transplant experiment
2012
Life-history traits are influenced by environmental factors throughout the lifespan of an individual. The relative importance of past versus present environment on individual fitness, therefore, is a relevant question in populations that face the challenge of temporally varying environment. We studied the interacting effects of past and present density on body mass, condition, and survival in enclosure populations of the bank vole (Myodes glareolus) using a reciprocal transplant design. In connection with the cyclic dynamics of natural vole populations, our hypothesis was that individuals born in low-density enclosures would do better overwintering in low-density enclosures than in high-den…

Impact of Mediterranean Diet on Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases and Longevity
2021
The average life expectancy of the world population has increased remarkably in the past 150 years and it is still increasing. A long life is a dream of humans since the beginning of time but also a dream is to live it in good physical and mental condition. Nutrition research has focused on recent decades more on food combination patterns than on individual foods/nutrients due to the possible synergistic/antagonistic effects of the components in a dietary model. Various dietary patterns have been associated with health benefits, but the largest body of evidence in the literature is attributable to the traditional dietary habits and lifestyle followed by populations from the Mediterranean re…
Production of (anti-)He-3 and (anti-)H-3 in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
2020
The transverse momentum (p(T)) differential yields of (anti-)He-3 and (anti-)H-3 measured in p-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with ALICE at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are presented. The ratios of the p(T)-integrated yields of (anti-)He-3 and (anti-)H-3 to the proton yields are reported, as well as the pT dependence of the coalescence parameters B-3 for (anti-)He-3 and (anti-)H-3. For (anti-)He-3, the results obtained in four classes of the mean charged-particle multiplicity density are also discussed. These results are compared to predictions from a canonical statistical hadronization model and coalescence approaches. An upper limit on the total yield of (4)(He) over bar is determine…
Stability, electronic structure, and optical properties of protected gold-doped silver Ag29-xAux (x = 0-5) nanoclusters
2017
In this work, we used density functional theory (DFT) and linear response time-dependent DFT (LR-TDDFT) to investigate the stability, electronic structure, and optical properties of Au-doped [Ag29−xAux(BDT)12(TPP)4]3− nanoclusters (BDT: 1,3-benzenedithiol; TPP triphenylphosphine) with x = 0–5. The aim of this work is to shed light on the most favorable doped structures by comparing our results with previously published experimental data. The calculated relative energies, ranging between 0.8 and 10 meV per atom, indicate that several doped Ag29−xAux nanoclusters are likely to co-exist at room temperature. However, only the Au-doped [Ag29−xAux(BDT)12(TPP)4]3− nanoclusters that have direct bon…
Lipodepsipeptides from Pseudomonas syringae are partially proteolyzed and are not absorbed by humans: An in vitro study
2008
There are some concerns about the use of Pseudomonas-based products as biocontrol agents because of the hemolytic activity shown by their metabolites. The effects of Pseudomonas lipodepsipeptides (LDPs) on mammals via ingestion and the LDP degradation during the digestion and intestinal permeability have not been evaluated. In this research, the susceptibility of different LDPs to degradation was assayed with enzymatic gastrointestinal digestion, and intestinal permeability to LDPs was investigated in an in vitro system based on an intestinal cell layer system. Results demonstrated that trypsin and chymotrypsin hydrolyze up to 50% of the various LDPs, and that proteolysis was further increa…
