Long-Term Efficacy of Psychosocial Treatments for Adults With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: A Meta-Analytic Review
2018
Background: Recent evidence suggests that psychosocial treatments, particularly cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), are effective interventions for adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The objective of this review was to determine the long-term efficacy of psychosocial interventions in improving clinically relevant variables, including ADHD core symptoms, clinical global impression (CGI), and global functioning. Methods: In total, nine randomized controlled trials and three uncontrolled single-group pretest-posttest studies were included. The data from these studies were combined using the inverse variance method. Heterogeneity and risk of bias were assessed. Subgroup anal…
I GESTI MOTORI NELLE SCOLIOSI MINORI
2008
Exploring the relationships between flow, mindfulness, & self-talk : a correlational study
2013
Flow (peak performance) and mindfulness (nonjudgemental present-moment awareness) appear to be conceptually closely related to one another (e.g., Gardner & Moore, 2004). Theoretically, self-talk can be reasoned to play a key role in influencing the afore mentioned constructs. The interconnectivity of these three key variables of interest is illustrated and explained in a proposed overarching theoretical framework. Therefore, the main purpose of the current correlational study was to explore the relationships between flow, mindfulness, and self-talk, at the dispositional level. 212 international participants with experience in competitive sports completed an on-line questionnaire comprising …
meso-Aryl-substituted free-base porphyrins: formation, structure and photostability of diprotonated species
2015
Susceptibility to interact with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) of selected free-base porphyrins, including a novel lipophilic 3-n-pentadecyl(phenoxy)-ethoxy-phenyl-substituted porphyrin, and photostability of their diprotonated compounds was explored in benzene and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). Results have been discussed in terms of the commonly applied pK a -based procedure and confronted with a simple approach derived from experimentally-determined correlations reflecting the porphyrins affinity for TFA. Density functional theory (DFT) has proved the porphyrin moiety creates stable diprotonated species involving two TFA molecules, in which the fluorine atoms effectively contribute to the over…
Decentering, Acceptance, and Non-Attachment : Challenging the Question "Is It Me?"
2021
Among mindfulness measures the three constructs acceptance, decentering, and non-attachment are psychometrically closely related, despite their apparent semantic differences. These three facets present robust psychometric features and can be considered core themes in most “third wave” clinical models. The aim of the present study was to explore the apparently different content domains (acceptance, decentering, and non-attachment) by administering various psychometric scales in a large sample of 608 volunteers. Resilience and depression were also assessed. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses performed in two randomly selected subsamples showed a bifactor approximation. The explained…
CIVIC CROWDFUNDING: A BOTTOM-UP PRACTICE FOR A CONSENSUAL URBAN DEVELOPMENT
2015
Cities are actually transforming their governmental, economic, social structures. In this complexity, making right policies to guarantee the social justice and the quality of life is really difficult: there is not only a financial problems, in consequence of international crisis, but also a relational problem between people and local institutions. The public government can’t provide by itself to all the utilities and public services for the citizens, and, at the same time, people are losing confidence in the institutions. In this critic context, planners should be the conjunction between people and government, applying good and effective participation methods. In this way, citizens could ac…
Crowdfunding civico: finanziamento collettivo come strategia di innovazione sociale
2013
