The influence of substitution in the quinoxaline nucleus on 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions

The reaction mechanism of 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of both symmetric and unsymmetric benzo-condensed diazines with a nitrilimine dipole, to give two different mono- and bis-cycloadducts, in tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution, was studied by DFT calculatio ns. The results obtained show that each 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction always proceeds by a two steps mechanism, in which the first intermediate shows only one covalent bond between the beta carbon of the nitrilimine and the aromatic nitrogen of the diazine molecule. Abstract The reaction of the antitumor M(I)-bis-N-heterocyclic carbene (M(I)-NHC) complexes, M = Cu, Ag, and Au, with their potential protein binding sites, i.e. cysteine and selenocysteine, was investigated by means of density functional theory approaches. Capped cysteine and selenocysteine were employed to better model the corresponding residues environment within peptide structures. The influence of solvent on conformational properties of peptides with Aib residue—a DFT study

The conformational propensities of the Aib residue on the example of two model peptides Ac-Aib-NHMe (1) and Ac-Aib-NMe2 (2), were studied by B3LYP and M06-2X functionals, in the gas phase and in the polar solvents. To verify the reliability of selected functionals, we also performed MP2 calculations for the tested molecules in vacuum. Polarizable continuum models (PCM and SMD) were used to estimate the solvent effect. Ramachandran maps were calculated to find all energy minima. Noncovalent intramolecular interactions due to hydrogen-bonds and dipole attractions between carbonyl groups are responsible for the relative stabilities of the conformers. International audience; The magnetic properties of [(VO)3(μ-PO4)2(2,2′-bpy)(μ-OH2)]1/3H2O (1) and (VO)2H4P2O9 (2), a tubular and a layered vanadium(IV) phosphates containing triply oxido bridged VIV dimers, are analyzed considering the Bleaney-Bowers S = 1/2 dimer model. In compound 1 the presence of an additional VIV connected with the VIV dimers through μ1,2-PO43− bridges is described with a Curie-Weiss type correction. This model reproduces the magnetic properties of compound 1 with g = 1.956, Jdim = −102.1 cm−1, θ = −0.4 cm−1 and Nα = 278 × 10−6 emu mol−1. International audience; A detailed electrochemical study of the oxidative decomposition of the trihydride complexes Cp*M(dppe)H3 (M = Mo, W) in acetonitrile is presented. For the Mo complex, the decomposition occurs by four different pathways involving classical and non-classical tautomers, whereas only the classical form is accessible for the W derivative. Matrix isolation IR studies, together with DFT calculations, have established that the co-condensation of molecular SiO and GeO in low temperature (12 K) nitrogen matrices leads to the formation of the novel silicon germanium oxide species SiGeO(2), Si(2)GeO(3) and SiGe(2)O(3) analogous to the known dimer and trimer species M(2)O(2) and M(3)O(3) (M = Si, Ge). Controlled diffusion studies in the temperature range 20-34 K result in a significant increase in trimer formation, which implies a very low activation energy for this oligomerisation step.
