Tässä pro gradu-tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin tyypin 1 diabetesta sairastavien nuorten psykologista joustavuutta, mielialaa ja elämänlaatua kohderyhmässä, jossa hoitotasapaino on heikko. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kartoittaa nuorten masennus- ja ahdistuneisuusoireiden sekä elämänlaadun tasoa. Lisäksi tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella hoitotasapainon yhteyttä elämänlaatuun sekä masennus- ja ahdistuneisuusoireisiin. The essential amino acid L-tryptophan (Trp) is the precursor of the monoaminergic neurotransmitter serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT). Numerous studies have shown that elevated dietary Trp has a suppressive effect on aggressive behavior and post-stress plasma cortisol concentrations in vertebrates, including teleosts. In these times of precision and personalized medicine, profiling patients to identify their needs is crucial to providing the best and most cost-effective treatment. In this study, we used urine metabolomics to explore the characterization of older adults with hip fractures and to explore the forecasting of patient outcomes. Overnight urine specimens were collected from 33 patients (mean age 80 ± 8 years) after hip fracture surgery during their stay at a rehabilitation hospital.
