Abstract We investigated the effectiveness of an intervention aimed at enhancing maternal sensitivity on mothers' verbal responsiveness to infants. Forty-four mothers from low-income, Brazilian homes and their 3-month-old infants were randomly assigned to intervention (n = 22) and comparison (n = 22) groups. The intervention spanned eight monthly home visits, during which mothers were trained to acknowledge and respond to infants' behaviors. Maternal verbal responsiveness was assessed during dyadic free play when infants were 11 and 18 months old. Left and right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) were recently found to be differentially affected by unilateral continuous theta-burst stimulation, reflected in an oppositional alteration of initial thinking time (ITT) in the Tower of London planning task. Here, we further explored this finding using bilateral transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and simultaneous tracking of eye movements. Results revealed a decrease in ITT during concurrent cathodal tDCS of left dlPFC and anodal tDCS of right dlPFC. Analysis of the LRP10 gene in patients with Parkinson's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies from Southern Italy

Recently, the LRP10 gene has been associated with Parkinson's disease (PD), Parkinson's disease with dementia (PDD), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the presence of mutations of the LRP10 gene in patients with PD or DLB from Southern Italy. Sequencing analysis revealed only 2 missense and 3 synonymous variants in patients and control subjects and a rare variant p.L622F in a PD case. These results suggest that LRP10 mutations are not a frequent cause of PD and DLB in Southern Italy.
