Psychological Distance in Eleonora Duse’s Medievalism

2017

Arthur Symons (1865–1945) remarked that the acting of Eleonora Duse (1858–1924) was ‘a criticism’, and that she enriched the roles she played. In doing so she fulfilled the author’s intention as well as conveying the character’s tragic passion. In my previous studies on Duse I have explored intensively the explanation of why her acting was such a perfect blend of erudition and skilful vocalisation, giving her the methodology to create an individual character in every part she played. Undoubtedly, she was a cerebral actress and a grand tragedienne. On the one hand, she was able to use all the depths and tones of her voice to generate extraordinarily melodious elocution – hers was a seductive…

La drammatica-metodo italiano: trattati normativi e testi teorici

2013

Influence of concomitant medications on the total clearance and the risk for supra-therapeutic plasma concentrations of Citalopram. A population-base…

2014

Introduction: The main objective of this study was to investigate the influence of the use of multiple medications and other risk factors on citalopram plasma concentrations. Methods: A retrospective cohort study with a naturalistic population of 957 patients for whom routine therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of citalopram had been requested between 2006 and 2013 was conducted. Results: Concomitant drugs inhibiting at least 2 different CYP subtypes involved in the metabolism of citalopram decreased statistically significantly the total clearance (Clt). Compared to younger patients over 64-year-old patients had on average a 4.5 times higher risk rate of supra-therapeutic plasma concentration…

The Murray Edwards Duse Collection

2012

The volume is the result of the discovery of Eleonora Duse’s books in Cambridge by Anna Sica (now De Domenico Sica). It is written in English and includes a contribution by Alison Wilson. It illustrates and explains why the Duse Collection in Cambridge, which is housed at Murray Edwards College, is a remarkable resource that enables us to understand the erudition that Duse displayed throughout her acting career, and her artistic and intellectual profile which inspired some of the major poets (f. i. d’Annunzio, Rilke, Claudel) and poetesses of her time. The volume gathers Sica’s complex and long investigation to identify all Duse’s books housed at Murray Edwards College, and from it further …

Sensación de inacabado y experiencias “not just right” como motivadoras de los síntomas obsesivo-compulsivos

2016

The sense of incompleteness, “not just right” experiences and “just right” symptoms are considered motivational variables of obsessive-compulsive symptoms. This study examines the relationships between these “new” constructs and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) related variables (symptoms, dysfunctional beliefs, perfectionism, and intolerance to uncertainty), in comparison to its association with emotional non-OCD psychopathology. The results from 267 individuals who completed self-reports indicate that individuals at risk of developing OCD score higher on the main constructs of the study than those not at risk. Only the variables incompleteness, not just right experiences and just right…
