The imbalance between testosterone (T) and cortisol (C) levels has been proposed as a possible marker of risk for intimate partner violence (IPV). Moreover, it could be related to a high probability of adopting risky behaviors such as alcohol abuse which, in turn, promotes the onset of IPV. This study tested the potential mediating effect of alcohol consumption on the relationship between baseline T/C ratio and anger expression in IPV perpetrators and non-violent controls. Alcohol consumption was higher in the former than controls. Background We studied the combined effects of cognitive performance and lower extremity function on self-reported walking modifications and walking difficulty and on self-reported walking difficulty incidence over a 2-year follow-up. Vertaisarvioitu Lähtökohdat Tutkimme Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) -menetelmän soveltuvuutta varhaista Alzheimerin tautia sairastavien potilaiden ajokyvyn arviointiin. Selvitimme myös menetelmän herkkyyttä tunnistaa kognitiomuutoksia. Menetelmät Tutkimus sisälsi haastattelun, kognitiivisen arvioinnin (MoCA), ajon simulaattorilla ja oman ajamisen arvioinnin. Siihen osallistui 7 potilasta ja 17 tervettä ikätoveria. Tulokset Potilaat suoriutuivat verrokkeja heikommin MoCA-testissä ja simulaattoriajossa.
