Sensorless Speed Control for Double-Sided Linear Induction Motor Applications

In this work, a flux and speed observer for double-sided linear induction motor applications is presented and experimentally validated. More in detail, from a Double-Sided Linear Induction Motor (DLIM) prototype, the complete modelling and the determination of the related parameters are here reported. Furthermore, the equations for a d-flux and q-flux observer are conceived and several simulation tests are performed. Allopurinol partially prevents disuse muscle atrophy in mice and humans

AbstractDisuse muscle wasting will likely affect everyone in his or her lifetime in response to pathologies such as joint immobilization, inactivity or bed rest. There are no good therapies to treat it. We previously found that allopurinol, a drug widely used to treat gout, protects muscle damage after exhaustive exercise and results in functional gains in old individuals. Thus, we decided to test its effect in the prevention of soleus muscle atrophy after two weeks of hindlimb unloading in mice, and lower leg immobilization following ankle sprain in humans (EudraCT: 2011-003541-17). Abstract Objective Using a mouse model of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), our goal was to identify autoantigens in the skin of the affected limb. Methods A CRPS-like state was induced using the tibia fracture/cast immobilization model. Purpose To develop and compare phase-contrast (PC) and spin-tag (ST) MR imaging techniques for accurate quantification of velocity and displacement distribution in the muscle tendon complex of the lower leg during isometric contractions under in vivo conditions, in healthy subjects and subjects with atrophy. Soleus aponeurosis strain distribution following chronic unloading in humans: an in vivo MR phase-contrast study.

A new dual inhibitor of arachidonate metabolism isolated from Helichrysum italicum.

Anti-inflammatory activity of erycristagallin, a pterocarpene from Erythrina mildbraedii.
