The diverse forms of participation in social media raise many methodological and ethical issues that should be acknowledged in research. In this paper, participation in social media is studied by utilising the framework of explicit and implicit participation. The focus is on the communicative and communal aspects of social media. The aim of the paper is to promote the reconsideration of what constitutes participation when online users create connections rather than content. The underlying argument is that research on social media and the development of methods should concentrate more on implicit forms of participation.

Effects of Positioning Aids on Understanding the Relationship Between a Mobile Map and the Environment

Positioning technologies such as GPS enable mobile map applications to display a symbol representing an estimation of a user’s location on a mobile map, therefore acting as a positioning aid. Previous research on the cognitive processes involved in map reading suggests that map readers need at least two map–environment points (objects that are visualized on the map and perceived in the environment) for determining their location on a map. Digital technologies have profoundly changed the cultural and creative industries. Due to the intrinsic characteristics of the performing arts sector, this digital transition has had a later impact on it. However, it has accelerated since the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing organizations to digitally transform themselves to keep in touch with their audience(s). Now that this crisis is over, many strategic and operational questions still remain unanswered. This research proposes a systematic literature review in order to establish the state of the art of the research on digitalization of the performing arts sector and to highlight the main research avenues to be explored.

Characterization of a CZT focal plane small prototype for hard X-ray telescope

The promise of good energy and spatial resolution coupled with high efficiency and room temperature operation has fuelled a large international effort to develop cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) for hard X-ray applications. We are involved on the development of a hard X-ray telescope based on multilayer optics and focal plane detector operative in the 10-80 keV energy range. Tīklenes attēlu iegūšana ar dažādiem apgaismojumiem

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu un angļu valodās, datorsalikumā uz 48 lapām. Tas satur 34 attēlus, 6 tabulas, 37 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Mērķis: izveidot spektrāli maināmu gaismas avotu, kas uzlabotu diabēta radītu tīklenes bojājumu un citu tīklenes struktūru kompjūter-diagnostiku. Metode: Spektrāli maināms gaismas avots, kas ir balstīts uz digitālās mikrospoguļu ierīces (DMD) un modificētas fundus kameras, kas komplektēti ar monohromatisku kameru tīklenes attēlu iegūšanai. Maģistra darbā autore analizē tiesu praksi Administratīvā procesa likuma 253. panta sestās daļas piemērošanā, ar mērķi noskaidrot, kādos gadījumos tiesai ir pamats, atceļot administratīvo aktu, uzdot iestādei izdot jaunu administratīvo aktu, un vai iestāde drīkst izdot jaunu administratīvo aktu pēc savas iniciatīvas. Autore secina, ka tiesu prakse Administratīvā procesa likuma 253. panta sestās daļas piemērošanā nav konsekventa. Vienlaikus secināms, ka ir iespējami izņēmuma gadījumi, kad tiesa ir spiesta pēc analoģijas piemērot APL 253. panta sesto daļu spriedumos lietās, kurās pieteikuma priekšmets ir labvēlīga administratīvā akta izdošana, jo šādi izņēmuma gadījumi nav noregulēti ar citām…

Omawiana instytucja prawa handlowego nie została unormowana przez Kodeks spółek handlowych, lecz została wypracowana przez doktrynę. Autor w niniejszym artykule przedstawia typowe aspekty funkcjonowania zarządu – reprezentacja spółki oraz prowadzenie spraw spółki przez zarząd „kadłubowy”.
