Research typically employs essentialist and static representations of masculinity to deal with of male violence against women. Masculinity is thereby linked to pre-social phenomena, naturalized categories, and to identity configurations that are defined as dangerous, due to biological, ethno-racial or class characteristics/configurations. Many specialist herbivores have evolved strategies to cope with plant defences, with gut microbiota potentially participating to such adaptations. In this study, we assessed whether the history of plant use (population origin) and microbiota may interact with plant defence adaptation. We tested whether microbiota enhance the performance of Melitaea cinxia larvae on their host plant, Plantago lanceolata and increase their ability to cope the defensive compounds, iridoid glycosides (IGs). Räjähdysaineiden kulkeutuminen maaperään ja vesitöihin aiheuttaa merkittävän ympäristöriskin, sillä toksikologisissa tutkimuksissa räjähdysaineiden on havaittu aiheuttavan monia terveydellisiä haittoja ja ne ovat myrkyllisiä eläville organismeille.
