Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a malignant soft tissue neoplasm consisting of cells derived from the primitive mesenchyme that exhibit a profound tendency to myogenesis. About 35% of RMS arises in the head and neck, being classified as parameningeal and non-orbital non-parameningeal forms. Parameningeal tumors carry the worst prognosis. The use of contemporary, multi-agent chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery has made treatment of the disseminated disease possible, and has significantly improved overall survival from 25% in 1970 to 70% in 1991. Three distinctively difierent implementations of convolu- tional perfectly matched layer for the FDTD method on CUDA enabled graphics processing units are presented. All implementations store ad- ditional variables only inside the convolutional perfectly matched lay- ers, and the computational speeds scale according to the thickness of these layers. The merits of the difierent approaches are discussed, and a comparison of computational performance is made using complex real-life benchmarks.

Element-Selective Magnetic Imaging in Exchange-Coupled Systems by Magnetic Photoemission Microscopy

We have used a photoemission microscope to obtain element-resolved magnetic contrast in stacked magnetic thin film systems. Magnetic information is thereby provided by X-ray magnetic circular dichroism. Elemental sensitivity, which is crucial for studying magnetic coupling phenomena in systems with several different layers, is achieved by tuning the energy of the illuminating photons to atomic absorption edges. We present measurements of a Ni-coated Co micropattern on Cu(001), and a wedged Co/Cr/Fe(001) sample. An insgesamt 716 Ratten und 750 Mausen wurde eine mogliche mutagene Wirkung einer bestrahlten Nahrung gepruft. Fertilitat, Tragezeitdauer, Wurfgrose, Aufzuchtleistung und Geschlechtsverhaltnis zeigten in 5 aufeinanderfolgenden Rattengenerationen keine Storungen in der Reproduktionsfahigkeit an. Es konnte kein Anstieg der Misbildungsrate bei den Rattenfeten beobachtet werden. Auch die Fruchtbarkeit der mannlichen und der weiblichen Tiere der Mausegeneration war ungestort. The beta-decay of95Rb and97Rb

Theβ-decay of 377 ms95Rb and 168ms97Rb has been thoroughly investigated by means ofγ-ray, conversion electron andβ-delayed neutron spectroscopy. More than 97% of theβ-decay to particle-bound states has been placed in level schemes of95Sr and97Sr. High-resolution neutron spectroscopic studies have allowed to extend the knowledge of the excitation spectra up to 9 MeV, respectively 10 MeV. The density of neutron-unbound levels in95Sr and97Sr has been derived from peak stripping analyses of the neutron spectra. Beta-strength functions (S β(E)) have been investigated in detail.
