Understanding Batesian mimicry is a classic problem in evolutionary biology. In Batesian mimicry, a defended species (the model) is mimicked by an undefended species (the mimic). Prior theories have emphasized the role of predator behavior and learning as well as evolution in model-mimic complexes but have not examined the role of population dynamics in potentially governing the relative abundances and even persistence of model-mimic systems. Here, we examined the effect of the population dynamics of predators and alternative prey on the prevalence of warning-signaling prey composed of models and mimics. Background: Children’s first years of life are crucial to their future health. Studies show that a varied diet with a high intake of vegetables is positive in several domains of health. The present low vegetable intake amongst children is, therefore, a concern. Food neophobia is a common barrier to vegetable intake in children. As most Norwegian children attend kindergarten from an early age, kindergartens could contribute to the prevention of food neophobia and the promotion of vegetable intake. Abstract The binding of the [(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) (2,2′-bipyridyl)(aquo)rhodium(III)] complex [Cp*RhIII(bpy)H2O]2+, to l -α-dipalmitoylphosphatidyl choline (DPPC) vesicles has been estimated by studying the kinetics of the electron transfer reaction between the rhodium(III) complex and formiate ions. Kinetic measurements carried out under anaerobic conditions in absence and presence of DPPC show that the total reaction is composed of two steps. The rate of the first reaction increases with the phospholipid concentration, while that of the second process is independent of the concentration of DPPC. This study aims to elucidate how modern presentation technology is being used by Norwegian Christian congregations. It is based on a survey answered by 715 church leaders, and the practice revealed is discussed particularly on the basis of Eileen D. Crowley's framework for ‘liturgical media art’. The findings show that presentation technology is used to a significant extent, but mainly as practical, visual support for communication. The article argues that there is a potential to use technology for aesthetic purposes as well.
