Pd nanoparticles formation inside porous polymeric scaffolds followed by in situ XANES/SAXS

International audience; Simultaneous time-resolved SAXS and XANES techniques were employed to follow in situ the formation of Pd nanoparticles from palladium acetate precursor in two porous polymeric supports: polystyrene (PS) and poly(4-vinyl-pyridine) (P4VP). In this study we have investigated the effect of the use of different reducing agents (H-2 and CO) from the gas phase. These results, in conjunction with data obtained by diffuse reflectance IR (DRIFT) spectroscopy and TEM measurements, allowed us to unravel the different roles played by gaseous H-2 and CO in the formation of the Pd nanoparticles for both PS and P4VP hosting scaffolds

Throughout the present research I intend to demonstrate the powerful link between the vocal practice in accompanied monody and the way Early Italian violin music ought to be interpreted. Due to the scarce amount of articulation and ornamentation in this music, I consider that historical criteria should be found in order to back up the subjective choices in its performance. According to this, I focus on reviewing sources that describe the vocal practice around 1600, but also contemporary sources in which we can find instructions addressed to bow instruments. Coping with pandemics using social network sites: A psychological detachment perspective to COVID-19 stressors

Prior research has often portrayed information technology (IT) as a stressor. In this paper, we propose and demonstrate that IT can also be an effective means of coping with life stressors, including those induced by pandemics such as COVID-19. We thus deviate from the common IT-as-a-stressor perspective and adopt an IT-as-a-coping-mechanism viewpoint. To this end, we apply the stressor-detachment model from organisational psychology to the use of social network sites (SNSs) in coping with stressors wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstract The purpose of this article is to test a novel, integrative theory of governance mode selection in the context of international franchising from Brazil. Given the Brazilian emerging market context, we added and tested another variable in the model relating to environmental distance between the home (Brazil) and host countries. To test the theory, we employed two logistic regression models and representative data from the Brazilian Franchising Association in addition to the World Bank's Doing Business index, and the CEPII (Centre d'etudes prospectives et d'informations internationales).
