Efficiency Improvement of Permanent-magnet Synchronous Motor Drives for Household Appliances

This paper deals with some aspects of efficiency improvement of PMSMD (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives). Particularly two aspects are focused: the control algorithm for the PMSMD, which allows to reduce the power losses of the electric drive without penalty on its dynamic performances and the optimization of an IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) rotor configuration capable to increase the performances in terms of shaft torque production, limiting at the same time the rotor leakage flux. Drivers’ health and fitness are essential factors in order to predict performance outcomes and to promote road safety. It is a demonstrated fact that drivers with (physical and mental) health impairments or illnesses have more probabilities of being involved in traffic crashes and suffering (or causing) several injuries. The general objective of this study was to examine the prevalence of adverse health conditions that may affect Spanish drivers and its perceived impact on driving fitness. W niniejszej pracy do szacowania kosztów działań informacyjnych pośredników w obrocie nieruchomościami wykorzystano metodę TDABC. W celu przedstawienia i analizy działań informacyjnych posłużono się algorytmem w postaci schematu blokowego. W algorytmie tym zawarto charakterystykę zmiennych (tzw. nośników działań) oraz opisy działań informacyjnych realizowanych przez pośredników. Poszczególne opisy wzbogacono o zmienne mające bezpośredni wpływ na czas ich realizacji, a także średnie czasy ich wykonania. Beliefs and attitudes of Australian learner drivers toward driving and avoiding driving through floodwater

Driving through floodwater is a significant cause of flood-related injury and mortality, and opportunities exist to embed safe driving messages regarding floodwaters to novice drivers in graduated driver licensing schemes. To inform future educational efforts, we investigated the beliefs and attitudes of Australian learner drivers about driving and avoiding driving through floodwaters. Accumulation of sleep loss among shift-working truck drivers

Sleep loss is known to contribute to road traffic accidents. Professional drivers are vulnerable to curtailment of sleep due to long driving bouts and shift work. To fill in the gap in the literature related to the buildup of sleep loss in irregular shift systems, we recorded the sleep and working hours of 47 shift-working long-haul truck drivers during a two-week period. Sleep (time in bed) was verified by actigraphy and sleep logs. Sleepiness was measured using the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS). Individual sleep need was based on self-assessments.
