Développement territorial soutenable: l'approche des libertés et ses conséquences pour les politiques d'attractivité

2014

Moving from the concepts of territory as a social construct and of development as the progressive, dynamic fulfilment of self-established goals, the paper aims to show how a genuine strategy of development helps building up a sustainable attractiveness. To achieve this goal, the paper first investigates the accuracy of the Nation Brand Index as a signal of the territorial attractiveness, positive or negative, in a long term perspective. Second, the pertinence of the freedom approach to development in order to fully integrate the sustainability issues is enlightened. Finally, the two models are tied together, thus allowing the mutual links and synergies to appear and corroborating the idea t…

Re-analysis of fatigue data for welded joints using the notch stress approach

2010

Abstract Experimental fatigue data for welded joints have been collected and subjected to re-analysis using the notch stress approach according to IIW recommendations. This leads to an overview regarding the reliability of the approach, based on a large number of results (767 specimens). Evidently, there are some limitations in the approach regarding mild notch joints, such as butt joints, which can be assessed non-conservatively. In order to alleviate this problem, an increased minimum notch factor of Kw ⩾ 2.0 is suggested instead of the current recommendation of Kw ⩾ 1.6. The data for most fillet-welded joints agree quite well with the FAT 225 curve; however a reduction to FAT 200 is sugg…

La legge di Okun: asimmetrie e differenziali territoriali in Italia

2008

[ABSTRACT] Okun's law turns out from the relationship between economic growth and unemployment fluctuations of the American economy during the sixties. Following his results several analyses tried to test the empirical relevance of the relation, initially estimated by Okun, for different countries and historical periods. Generally, authors found heterogeneous results in estimating Okun's coefficient, depending on the sample and context analylised. Moreover, recent analyses focused on the influence exerted by asymmetric components on the relation between output growth and unemployment rate. In this paper we propose an application regarding the Italian regions. In particular, we perform a pan…
