Jørgen Moe : teolog, prest og biskop

2013

Author's version of an article in the journal: Teologisk Tidsskrift. Also available from the publisher at: http://www.idunn.no/ts/tt/2013/03/joergen_moe_-_teolog_prest_og_biskop Jørgen Moe (1813–1882) is best known for his work as a folklorist, but he was also a poet, pastor and finally bishop in the diocese of Kristiansand. This article examines some of the cultural and theological motivations of his ministerial work, based on poems, sermons and documents from his years as a bishop. The article shows how Moe’s aesthetic and pedagogical interests are reflected in this period and how he influenced Norwegian church life through his pupils J. C. Heuch and Gustav Jensen. - Jørgen Moe (1813–1882…

Datortomogrāfijas kvalitātes kritēriju izvērtējums pie iedzimtām krūšu kurvja sienas patoloģijām dažādām vecuma grupām

2016

Izvēlētā bakalaura tēma ir “Datortomogrāfijas kvalitātes kritēriju izvērtējums pie iedzimtām krūškurvja sienas patoloģijām dažādām vecuma grupām”. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot diagnostiskos kvalitātes kritērijus un datortomogrāfijas izmeklēšanas nozīmīgumu pie iedzimtām krūškurvja sienas patoloģijām dažādām vecuma grupām. Pēc centrālās statistikas datiem 2015.gadā Latvijā 20% gadījumu no muskuloskeletālo patoloģiju skaita ir iedzimtās krūšu kurvja priekšējās sienas patoloģijas ar tendenci pēdējo gadu laikā palielināties. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no teorētiskās un praktiskās daļas. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek apkopota un analizēta literatūra par krūškurvja anatomiskajām struktūrām, datortomogrāfijas …

Permutations of zero-sumsets in a finite vector space

2020

Abstract In this paper, we consider a finite-dimensional vector space 𝒫 {{\mathcal{P}}} over the Galois field GF ⁡ ( p ) {\operatorname{GF}(p)} , with p being an odd prime, and the family ℬ k x {{\mathcal{B}}_{k}^{x}} of all k-sets of elements of 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} summing up to a given element x. The main result of the paper is the characterization, for x = 0 {x=0} , of the permutations of 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} inducing permutations of ℬ k 0 {{\mathcal{B}}_{k}^{0}} as the invertible linear mappings of the vector space 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} if p does not divide k, and as the invertible affinities of the affine space 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} if p divides k. The same question is answered also in the case where …

Polis and Oikos : The Art of Politics in the Greek City-State

2020

The Greek city-state has traditionally been viewed as an entity that was divided into two distinct spheres (oikos and polis) and governed by two distinct arts (oikonomia and politikê technê). The aim of this article is to show that this image of the Greek city-state is not very accurate. The relationship between the oikos and the polis was not exclusive in classical poleis. Particularly in Athens during the democratic period, the polis was depicted as a family writ large, and to the extent that oikos was seen as an entity of its own, it was a part of the polis, not excluded from or opposed to it. My aim is to show that the art of the household and the art of politics were not distinct arts …

Titration of poly(dA-dT).poly(dA-dT) in solution at variable NaCl concentration

2004

CD and uv absorption data showed that high molecular weight poly(dA-dT) poly(dA-dT), at 298 K, undergoes an acid-induced transition from B-double helix to random coil in NaCl solutions of different concentrations, ranging from 0.005 to 0.600M. Similarly, titration of the polynucleotide with a strong base causes duplex-to-single strands transition. The base- and acid-induced transitions were both reversible by back-titration (with an acid or, respectively, with a base): the apparent pKa were the same in both directions. However, the number of protons per titratable site (adenine N1) required to reach half-denaturation was in great excess over the stoichiometric value; to a much larger extent…
