Studying the stability of Solvent Red 19 and 23 as excise duty components under the influence of controlled factors

Abstract In this study, we examine the chemical stability of two disazo dyes, namely Solvent Red 19 and 23 (SR 19 and SR 23), under simulated conditions. Both dyes are considered to be chemically stable under normal exploitation conditions and therefore, are used extensively as excise duty components that enable a rapid visual verification of the tax levels that were imposed on fuel products as well as identifying fuel usage. However, the results from this study confirmed that the colour of the samples that had been fortified with either SR 19 or SR 23 fades under the influence of external conditions such as UV-A irradiation and temperature over time. All-fibered high-quality low duty-cycle 20-GHz and 40-GHz picosecond pulse sources

International audience; In this work, we demonstrate all-fibered 20-GHz and 40-GHz picosecond pulse sources with duty cycles as low as 1/14. The pulse train is achieved via the high-quality compression of an initial sinusoidal beating through four segments of optical fibers. General design rules are proposed and experimental results are in agreement with numerical predictions.

Thermal protection limits are equally important as mechanical specifications when designing electric drivetrains. However, properties of motor drives like mass/length of copper winding or heat dissipation factor are not available in producers’ catalogs. The lack of this essential data prevents the effective selection of drivetrain components and makes it necessary to consult critical design decisions with equipment's suppliers. A high-efficiency regulation technique for a zero-voltage zero-current power switching converter

This paper describes the application of a new regulation technique to a resonant converter that features zero-voltage (ZV) and zero-current (ZC) switching and works at constant frequency and duty cycle. The regulator utilizes the concept of regulating only a percentage of the total power in a bidirectional manner, thus allowing the converter to be optimized for both mass and efficiency. The proposed regulation technique has a wide range of applicability to almost all types of power converters or inverters that utilize a transformer to produce an isolated output.
