In this work a Ritz model for progressive non-linear damage analysis of variable angle tow composite plates is presented. The damage is treated in the framework of continuum damage mechanics and its evolution is based on a linear softening law with which four damage indices are computed for degrading the mechanical properties of the material. A set of analyses have been carried out to investigate how damage evolves in VAT composite plates under progressive loading.

Neuronal effects of Sugammadex in combination with Rocuronium or Vecuronium.

Rocuronium (ROC) and Vecuronium (VEC) are the most currently used steroidal non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking (MNB) agents. Sugammadex (SUG) rapidly reverses steroidal NMB agents after anaesthesia. The present study was conducted in order to evaluate neuronal effects of SUG alone and in combination with both ROC and VEC. Using MTT, CASP-3 activity and Western-blot we determined the toxicity of SUG, ROC or VEC in neurons in primary culture. SUG induces apoptosis/necrosis in neurons in primary culture and increases cytochrome C (CytC), apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF), Smac/Diablo and Caspase 3 (CASP-3) protein expression. An unexpected representation of burgundian vineyards in the 16th century: the map of “Les Environs de l’estang de Longpendu”

The Environs de l’étang de Longpendu map by Jean Vandamme shows a part of the Burgundy territory, located in the center of Charolais, probably at the end of the sixteenth century. It is representative of a complex corpus and shows, in various ways, a part of the Burgundy vineyards in the North, and Charolais forests and plains in the South. The vineyards shown are partly those occupied by today’s Côte de Beaune, Côte chalonnaise, Mâconnais and Couchois. This is one of the oldest representations of the vineyard in Burgundy, and a precious tool for documenting the dynamics of vineyard expansion from the 16th to the 21st century.

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between enjoyment, perceived competence, fundamental movement skills, and physical activity engagement of Grade 7 students participating in Finnish physical education. A secondary aim of the study was to examine gender differences in all assessed variables. The participants of the study were 404 Grade 7 students aged 13 years. The sample comprised 210 girls and 194 boys, who were involved in 23 classes taught by 10 physical education teachers at three secondary schools.
