Materiały do brioflory rezerwatu przyrody Boczki (Puszcza Romincka)

2017

The results of bryological investigations from the “Boczki” nature reserve, located in Puszcza Romincka Forest, are presented. The reserve was established in 1974 for protection well preserved forest communities characteristic of the Romincka Primeval Forest. 154 bryophyte species were recorded – 37 liverworts and 117 mosses, including 37 unpublished species from the Puszcza Romincka Forest. In respect of frequency the main group make rare species – 29.2%, the least numerous were frequent – 21.4%. Terrestrial and epixylic habitats were the richest – refer 98 and 85 species respectively. Significant were groups of protected (47) and endangered (14) species. There is also a large share of bry…

Viscario vulgaris-Quercetum petraeae Stöcker (1965) in the Opawskie Mts (Eastern Sudetes)

2015

Abstract Results of phytosociological studies conducted in the southern part of Opole Silesia within the Sudetes mountain range in 2014-2015 are presented. The main aim of our research was to confirm the occurrence of Viscario vulgaris-Quercetum petraeae Stöcker 1965, which had previously been noted in Poland only within the Central Sudetes Foothills in Lower Silesia province. Two additional sites of this extremely rare in Poland plant association were confirmed, located within the Opawskie Mts in Opole province. The association develops on steep slopes, near rocky outcrops, on southern or western expositions at altitudes between 350 and 410 m a.s.l. All plots of the association consists of…

Rumicetum palustris (TIMÁR 1950) W. FISCHER 1978, new plant community from Bidentetea tripartiti R. Tx., LOHM. ET Prsg 1950 class in SW Poland

2016

Natural water reservoirs are very valuable floristic sites in Poland. Among them, the most important for preservation of biodiversity of plant communities are lakes, rivers, oxbow lakes and fishponds. The long-term process of human pressure on habitats of this type caused disturbance to their biological balance. Changes in the water regime, industrial development and chemisation of agriculture, especially in the period of last two hundred years, led to systematic disappearance of localities of many plant communities. Rumicetum palustris (Timár 1950) W. Fischer 1978, of Bidentetea tripartiti R. Tx., Lohm. et Prsg 1950 class, has been described for the first time in Hungary and Germany. This …

Veronico beccabungae-callitrichetum stagnalis (Oberd. 1957) Müller 1962, a plant association new to Poland - Quality of habitat

2011

The paper presents a community of water plants that is new to Poland, Veronico beccabungae-Callitrichetum stagnalis (Oberd. 1957) Müller 1962. This community belongs to the class Potametea. It was discovered in the village of Odrowąż near the town of Krapkowice in Silesia (SW Poland). Veronico beccabungae-Callitrichetum stagnalis in Poland occurs within an irregularly shaped shallow underwater spring, located in the distal part of the Oder River’s flood terrace. This plant community covered 0.2 ha in 2008. Callitriche stagnalis predominated in this community. Species such as Callitriche hamulata&lt…

Habitat preference of endangered Eastern Iberian Reed BuntingsEmberiza schoeniclus witherbyi

2011

Capsule Careful management is required to maintain or create habitats with the correct proportions of rush with reeds that are preferred by this subspecies. Aims To determine the habitat requirements of Eastern Iberian (Western Iberian Reed Buntings were not included in the study) Reed Buntings Emberiza schoeniclus witherbyi, a subspecies endemic to a few marshes in France, Spain and Morocco, with a population of 254–360 breeding pairs. Methods Twenty-five wetlands in Spain were surveyed and presence/absence of Iberian Reed Buntings was deteremined together with data on 41 environmental variables. The relationships between the birds and habitat data were investigated using glm. Results Prop…

Ecological variation between marginal and central populations of Potamogeton polygonifolius, a rare and endangered species in Central Europe

2012

Abstract The present study is focused on Potamogeton polygonifolius – the species considered to be endangered in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland. Field studies were carried out in Lower Silesia and Lusatia in southwestern Poland in order to verify the present state of the marginal populations of P. polygonifolius, to determine the habitat preferences of the species in the study area, to compare the ecological data between marginal and central populations and finally to recognise the factors constraining the easternmost limit of the P. polygonifolius. In total, 18 populations were examined, and 11 releves were collected. The releves gathered were compared with 95 releves …

Tarsius tumpara: A New Tarsier Species from Siau Island, North Sulawesi

2008

Abstract: A new, critically endangered species of tarsier, one of the world's 25 most endangered primates, is described from the remote island of Siau, North Sulawesi, based on distinguishing characteristics of the tail tuft, pelage coloration, skull, and vocalizations. Siau is part of the Sangihe Island chain, a volcanic arc composed of islands that rise from the ocean floor. There is a single previous record of a tarsier from Siau; a skull in the Dresden Museum that Meyer (1897) classified with tarsiers from Sangihe Island as Tarsius sangirensis. Sangihe and Siau Islands are geologically separated by about 60 km of ocean that greatly exceeds 1,000 m in depth. Genetic data for the new spec…

Pamięć i czas a (nie)bezpieczeństwo ontologiczne współczesnego człowieka

2019
