Set-valued stochastic integral equations driven by martingales

2012

Abstract We consider a notion of set-valued stochastic Lebesgue–Stieltjes trajectory integral and a notion of set-valued stochastic trajectory integral with respect to martingale. Then we use these integrals in a formulation of set-valued stochastic integral equations. The existence and uniqueness of the solution to such the equations is proven. As a generalization of set-valued case results we consider the fuzzy stochastic trajectory integrals and investigate the fuzzy stochastic integral equations driven by bounded variation processes and martingales.

Mind, brain, and downward causation

2011

The Black Block : Opaque Page as a Graphic Device

2019

The black block, a rectangle of black printing ink on the page of a book, surrounded by blank margins, is a peculiar graphic device. Its literary tradition has usually been considered to start from Tristram Shandy, which includes a renowned black page in memory of “poor Yorick”. Nevertheless, Sterne’s gimmick can be seen as an allusion to an older typographical tradition of the so-called mourning pages, which were featured in books remembering the departed decades before Tristram Shandy. In this article, we analyze the ways in which the black block is used in narrative literature, with examples chosen mainly from 20th century experimental fiction. The block proves ambivalent in that it seem…

Danielin ilmestyskirja : autofiktio ja apokalyptisyys Daniel Sjölinin romaanissa Världens sista roman

2011

Tutkimuksessa analysoidaan ruotsalaisen tv-juontaja ja kirjailija Daniel Sjölinin uransa päätösteokseksi nimeää romaania Världens sista roman (2007) autofiktion ja apokalyptisyyden näkökulmista. Tutkimuksen ydinkysymyksenä on romaanin omaelämäkerrallisuuden ja omaelämäkerrallisen materiaalin tarkastelu Serge Doubrovskyn autofiktio-käsiteen kautta. Autofiktiivinen teos asettuu tietoisesti omaelämäkerran ja fiktiivisen romaanin välimaastoon hämärtäen ja venyttäen niiden rajoja. Pintapuolisesti Sjölinin romaani asettuu selkeästi fiktion alueelle mutta pinnan alla kirjailija käsittelee romaanissaan hyvin henkilökohtaisia aiheita: kirjailijanuran lopettamista ja oman lapsen menettämistä. Molemma…

Apziņas koncepcija evolucionisma pieejas ietvaros Daniela Deneta filozofijā

2015

Disease, Death and Decay as Exemplified by Daniel Defoe's "A Journal of the Plague Year" (1722)

2018

The history of 17th-century London was strappingly marked by events connected with death on a massive scale: the plague of 1665, which took the toll of around 100,000 lives, and the great fire of 1666, which destroyed the homes of 70,000 inhabitants, causing death to an unknown number of Londoners, whose bodies had melted in the heat. This article attempts, primarily, to explore the images of, first, the fatal disease and, then, death and decay as presented in Daniel Defoe’s renowned account of the plague, alongside his narrative techniques he utilised in it to make his portrayals of people’s personal tragedies more vivid and credible to his readers decades later.
