[Mortality and life expectancy trends for male pensioners by pension income level]

We draw on the Continuous Sample of Working Lives (CSWL) to investigate the differences in socioeconomic mortality among retired men aged 65 and above, over the longest possible period covered by this data source: 2005–2018. This paper deals with the case of Spain, since very little evidence concerning retirement pensioners is available for this country. The only indicator of socioeconomic status we use is the amount of the initial pension of the retired population. For 2005-2010 we find a gap in life expectancy of 1.49 years between pensioners in the highest and lowest income groups. This gap widens over time and reaches 2.58 years for the period 2015–2018. Data Source The ADKA-DokuPIK German database, a national anonymous self-reported Internet-based documentation system for routine PIs as well as for medication errors reported by German hospital pharmacists. Cycling behavior remains a key issue for explaining several traffic causalities occurring every day. However, recent studies have shown how the assessment of the own safety-related behaviors on the road may substantially differ from how third parties assess them. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the differences between cyclists’ self-reported behavior and the proxy-reported behavior that other (non-cyclist) road users perceive from bike riders. Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy in Italy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: The use of laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (LDP) increased in the past twenty years but the real diffusion of this technique is still unknown as well as the type of centers (high or low volume) in which this procedure is more frequently performed. DATA SOURCE: A systematic review was performed to evaluate the frequency of LDP in Italy and to compare indications and results in high volume centers (HVCs) and in low volume centers (LVCs). RESULTS: From 95 potentially relevant citations identified, only 5 studies were included. A total of 125 subjects were analyzed, of whom 95 (76.0%) were from HVCs and 30 (24.0%) from LVCs.
