This paper describes a hierarchical, three-level modelling framework for monitoring social media. Immediate social reality is modelled through the first level of the models. They represent various virtual communities at social media sites and adhere to the social world models of the sites, i.e., the "site ontologies". This paper describes the architecture and a partial implementation of a system designed for the monitoring and analysis of communities at social media sites. The main contribution of the paper is a novel system architecture that facilitates long-term monitoring of diverse social networks existing and emerging at various social media sites. Most Web search diversity approaches can be categorized as Document Level Diversification (DocLD), Topic Level Diversification (TopicLD) or Term Level Diversification (TermLD). We developed a classification workflow for boreal forest habitat type mapping. In object-based image analysis framework, Fractal Net Evolution Approach segmentation was combined with random forest classification. High-resolution WorldView-2 imagery was coupled with ALS based canopy height model and digital terrain model. We calculated several features (e.g. spectral, textural and topographic) per image object from the used datasets. We tested different feature set alternatives; a classification accuracy of 78.0 % was obtained when all features were used. This paper re-examines the Finnish evidence presented by Lehtonen and Tykkylainen on the use of location quotients (LQs) in estimating regional input coefficients and multipliers. They argue that the choice of an LQ-based method is a gamble and that there is no single method that can be recommended for general use. It is contended here that this evidence is erroneous and that the FLQ (Flegg's location quotient) yields results far superior to those from competing formulae, so it should provide a satisfactory way of generating an initial set of input coefficients.…
