Objectives: Resilience, the ability to bounce back after adverse events may be an important factor in active aging. The 10-item version of the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC10) seems suitable for aging research owing to its low participant burden; however, its psychometric properties have not been comprehensively reported for older people. Resilience is understood as the domain of personal resources and contextual factors that allow for a successful coping and enhance positive adaptation to the different stressors during the lifespan, thereby being important for a healthy and successful aging. Nowadays, several brief instruments have been developed to measure resilience, such as the Brief Resilient Coping Scale (BRCS), an instrument that measures the ability of people to confront stress in an adaptive way. En este trabajo presentamos una hipótesis sobre las raíces del epifenomenismo sobre las propiedades mentales que afecta al monismo anómalo de Davidson. Según dicha hipótesis, el hecho de que Davidson considere las condiciones de justificación y de causalidad como condiciones separadas y recíprocamente independientes de las racionalizaciones, así como su concepción de las racionalizaciones como enunciados causales singulares y de la relación entre la razón y la acción como una relación causal extensional, se hallan en el origen mismo del mencionado problema de epifenomenismo con que se enfrenta el monismo anómalo.
