To find out how thick your bone structure is, medical personnel uses x-ray images and measure the thickness of your bones. Today this is done manually by the use of a ruler. In this thesis we have examined the use of Wavelets for edge detection in order to find a better and smarter way of measuring the bone thickness digitally. Ultrasounds do not have any known side effects, and it provides the surgeon with real-time imaging. In spite of its advantages, ultrasounds also have some disadvantages. The most obvious is that ultrasound images contain much noise. Another problem is that edges of vital organs may appear diffuse. It will also describe the ‘UMTS AKA Illustrator’ which is an animation program we have created to explain the AKA procedures. The AKA procedure is the essence of authenticating a user to the network and vice versa.
