Entering post-otaku : approaching the Internet era in the light of otaku

2014

This thesis raises a hypothesis that we have entered the Post- Otaku era. In order to prove this hypothesis, a survey has been conducted in which 30 participants gave answers regarding their Internet habits. It is said that each time when science and technology make one step forward, it increases the capacity of our organs. Compared with the impact of the industrial revolution on human beings, the influence of Internet technology seems far more tremendous as the former extends the power of our limbs while the latter enhances the competence of our brain. The significance of the present study is trying to explore the unknown future in the light of the Otaku phenomenon which is something havin…

Bioy Casares: neo-fantástico y deconstrucción

2016

The complex dynamics of space and time present in some of the stories of Adolfo Bioy Casares have their roots in the interstitial that separates the genres of fantasy and neo-fantasy, and most of all in the suggestion of ontological ideas and doubts that characterise the latter. Deeply rooted in the unknown land of a reality that is full of doubts, the literature of Bioy Casares seeks to restore, through the multiple games of fiction, the perception and perceptions of a continuous changes that end with generating parallel worlds. The neo-fantastic passes the crucial limit of traditional fantasy, the stable and certain dichotomy between the real and the imaginary, and to do this it relies on…

Złudna idea de(kon)strukcji architektury

2017

2019

Although Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics and Derrida's deconstruction are two important school of thoughts on the theory of interpretation, there are little connections between them. Especially after the unsuccessful meeting between Derrida and Gadamer at Paris in 1981, there were practically no collaborations between the two camps. As a result, the existing literatures comparing these two school of thoughts suffer two general problems. First, most focus only on their 1981 debate at Paris. Secondly, even for the commentators who take a wider approach, the investigation is often one-sided, simplifying too much the opposing side of the debate. The present project takes into consideration …

Saying the Saffu and Beating the Law: The Changing Role of Sacred Sites in the Oromo Politico-Juridical System

2013

This chapter presents a semiotic analysis of the role of sacred sites and other physical features and objects in key political/religious rituals of the Oromo people living in the Horn of Africa. Theoretically, it builds on Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction of the concept of ‘archive’ as an intersection of the topological and the nomological of the place and the law. For Derrida, the place of the archive is not a locatable place, but a topos, the marking of a discourse. In contrast to the European tradition based primarily on archives inscribed in writing and summarised in a codified law, for the traditional Oromo society, laws were part of the oral tradition – a mixture of religion, law and …

Distruzione/costruzione/decostruzione. Il flusso continuo dell'architettura contemporanea

2014

The essay is focused on the relevance of destruction for architecture. Destruction, is intended as an act, as a …
