Maģistra darba mērķis ir izveidot Rīgas pilsētas Maskavas priekšpilsētas iedzīvotāju sociālo portretu kā noteiktas sabiedrības grupas kopīgo raksturojumu un aplūkot, kādi vēsturiskie aspekti ietekmēja šāda procesa norisi un kā demogrāfiskas izmaiņas ietekmēja aplūkotās teritorijas attīstību no 19. gadsimta beigām līdz 1914. gadam. Darbā tiek analizēts, kādi faktori ietekmēja iedzīvotāju sastāva izmaiņas. Maskavas priekšpilsēta vienmēr bija diezgan savdabīga un stipri atšķiras no citam Rīgas priekšpilsētām jau no izveidošanas laika, tomēr industrializācijas un rūpnīcu uzplaukums, iedzīvotāju skaita palielināšanās stipri izmainīja arī priekšpilsētas iedzīvotāju struktūru. The wage curve and local monopsony power

AbstractUsing longitudinal micro-data from Finland, a country with a geographically dispersed population and relatively long distances between local labor markets, this paper examines the responsiveness of the pay level to local unemployment conditions. In particular, this study tests the hypothesis that the pay level is more responsive to the unemployment level in less agglomerated and more remote regions as might be expected if employers have a higher degree of monopsony power in such regions. Drip irrigation is widely promoted in Spain to increase agricultural production and to save water. In the Cànyoles watershed, Valencia, we analysed the consequences of change from surface irrigation to drip irrigation over the past 25 years.
