New client puzzle approach for DoS resistance in ad hoc Networks

In this paper we propose a new client puzzle approach to prevent Denial of Service (DoS) attacks in ad hoc networks. Each node in the network first solves a computational problem and with the solution has to create and solve a client puzzle. By combining computational problems with puzzles, we improve the efficiency and latency of the communicating nodes and resistance in DoS attacks. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our approach.

Czas na wytoczenie przez mężczyznę powództwa o zaprzeczenie ojcostwa lub o ustalenie bezskuteczności uznania ojcostwa jest krótki i wynosi 6 miesięcy. Ponadto po jego upłynięciu jedyną możliwością z perspektywy ojca jest wytoczenie powództwa przez prokuratora, który de facto nie musi się przychylić do wniosku mężczyzny i może odmówić tej czynności. Application-layer denial-of-service attacks have become a serious threat to modern high-speed computer networks and systems. Unlike network-layer attacks, application-layer attacks can be performed by using legitimate requests from legitimately connected network machines which makes these attacks undetectable for signature-based intrusion detection systems. Mental adjustment to cancer and quality of life in breast cancer patients: An exploratory study

This study explores the relationship between adjustment to cancer and quality of life in a sample of 68 newly diagnosed non-metastatic breast cancer patients. Responses were assessed on three occasions following communication of the diagnosis and included the Mental Adjustment to Cancer (MAC) scale, a measure of denial and a Spanish quality of life questionnaire for breast cancer patients. Appropriate medical variables were considered and included in the analysis.
