Software e design: i media digitali nel quotidiano

2015

Computer, tablet, smartphone are the most important everyday objects in our life because we made experiences by them; they run due to their software: so it is necessary to understand it, his form, his design and his tr…

L'orologio di Francesco e altre parabole

2017

“Fratelli e sorelle buonasera”.

2016

There's nothing wrong with combining food and design and design together; there's nothing wrong with thinking that you can design food, or perhaps the restaurant where we eat it, or the pack in which it is stored. In all of these cases, more or less directly, the same variables are always handled. the same variables. As long as it is clear what we are planning, what we are dealing with. Because otherwise the project becomes naive decoration, a garnish that serves to amaze or make people laugh but which, in either case lasts only as long as a smile.

Anecdote-Spin-Instructional-Design

2015

Instructional Design is a wonderful tool in the hands of any Instructor, be a class teacher or a lecturer, or a professor. Having an Instructional design and knowing how to use it will make one an effective instructor (Bandura 1997). The design could be in the form of a method or a paradigm, or any cognitive frame work (Elliot and McGregor 2001; Cury et al., 2006). Each design could have its own logic, for example Clarke, Ayres, and Sweller (2005) used spreadsheet application as instructional design to teach students mathematical concepts and procedures (Ambrose et al., 2010). Here we propose a design namely Anecdote-Spin-Instructional-Design. People of every age, be it young or old or midd…

On the 2-(25, 5, λ) design of zero-sum 5-sets in the Galois field GF(25)

2017

In this paper we consider the incidence structure ${\mathcal{D}}=({\mathcal{F}},{\mathcal{B}}_5^{0}),$ where ${\mathcal{F}}$ is the Galois field with $25$ elements, and ${\mathcal{B}}_5^{0}$ is the family of all $5$-subsets of $\mathcal F$ whose elements sum up to zero. It is known that ${\mathcal{D}}$ is a $2$-$(25,5,71)$ design. Here we provide two alternative, direct proofs of this result and, moreover, we prove that ${\mathcal{D}}$ is not a $3$-design. Furthermore, if ${\mathcal{B}}_5^{x}$ denotes the family of all $5$-subsets of $\mathcal F$ whose elements sum up to a given element $x \in \mathcal F,$ we also provide an alternative, direct proof that $({\mathcal{F}},{\mathcal{B}}_5^{x}…

Hepatocellular carcinoma treatment over sorafenib: epigenetics, microRNAs and microenvironment. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

2015

Introduction: Sorafenib is currently the only approved therapy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Alternative first- and second-line treatments are a significant unmet medical need, and several biologic agents have been tested in recent years, with poor results. Therefore, angiogenic pathways and the cytokine cascade remain possible targets in HCC. Recent studies suggest a role of epigenetic processes, associated with the initiation and development of HCC. In this field, DNA methylation, micro-RNAs (miRNAs) and tumor microenvironment cells became a possible new target for HCC treatment. Areas covered: This review explains the possible role of DNA methylation and histone deacetylase inhibito…

Dynamic inguinal hernia repair with a 3d fixation-free and motion-compliant implant: a clinical study.

2014

Static solutions for highly motile structures such as the groin seem to represent a procedural incongruence. Another important issue in prosthetic hernia repair is related to the poor quality of tissue ingrowth within conventional flat meshes and plugs. These are all static, passive devices, and thus do not move in synchrony with the natural movements of the groin. In the literature there is a clear understanding of how conventional prostheses used for inguinal hernia repair are incorporated by rigid fibrotic tissue. The term "scar plate" well emphasizes this occurrence. The ingrowth of this kind of stiff fibrotic scar leads to mesh shrinkage and to the reduction of the mesh surface area. T…
