Density flow over networks: A mean-field game theoretic approach

A distributed routing control algorithm for dynamic networks has recently been presented in the literature. The networks were modeled using time evolution of density at network edges and the routing control algorithm allowed edge density to converge to a Wardrop equilibrium, which was characterized by an equal traffic density on all used paths. We borrow the idea and rearrange the density model to recast the problem within the framework of mean-field games. The contribution of this paper is three-fold. An architectural generative design process

The paper discusses about architectural and urban design tools, and reports a prototype of parametric application that allows the designer to handle the architectural shape by using urban regulations. It is a Decision Support System (DSS), useful at the early stage of city planning as well as at the early stage of architectural design. The System integrates two different research topics: modelling in geo-referenced environment and modelling through constraints. Compared to the related works (Building Modelling on geo-referenced environment), our application is the first Generative System based on the urban regulation. Three case studies are presented to test the System.

Sketcching sonic interactions

This chapter provides an overview of methods and practices for sketching sound in interactive contexts. The chapter stresses the role and importance of producing and interacting with provisional sound representations in conceptual sound design. The cognitive benefits of embodied sound sketching are discussed and outlined by means of practical examples and basic exercises. In particular, vocalizations and gestures are proposed as primary cognitive artifacts available to sound designers to enact sonic impressions and displays, cooperatively.

Voice and gestures are natural sketching tools that can be exploited to communicate sonic interactions. In product and interaction design, sounds should be included in the early stages of the design process. Scientists of human motion have shown that auditory stimuli are important in the performance of difficult tasks and can elicit anticipatory postural adjustments in athletes. Activity overlap between mesocarnivores and prey in the Central Mongolian steppe

Research on the ecology and behaviour of mesocarnivores and their prey is scant in Mongolia. We investigated activity patterns of a guild of mesocarnivores (red fox, Pallas's cat and beech marten) and their prey (Siberian marmot, Daurian pika, Brandt vole, Mongolian gerbil and Mongolian silver vole) using 21 camera traps (effort = 1155 camera days) in Central Mongolia from 25st of May to 20th August 2019. Activity patterns of mesocarnivores were cathemeral (i.e. no difference between diurnal, nocturnal and crepuscular detections, although activity peaked at sunrise).
