Identification de gènes liés à la résistance aux herbicides non liée à la cible chez les Ivraies : vers des tests « moléculaires » de diagnostic

2016

Identification of genes linked to non-target-site resistance to herbicides in ryegrass : towards "molecular" diagnosis assays. Setting up molecular diagnosis tools would greatly foster preventing and managing non-target-sitebased resistance to herbicides (NTSR). This is currently hampered by the complexity of NTSR genetic determinism, which is largely based upon differences in the expression of an unknown number of genes between resistant and sensitive plants. Identifying NTSR genes is thus a challenging task. Herein, we report the identification of 19 genes which expression patterns are correlated to NTSR to ALS-inhibiting herbicides in rye-grasses (Lolium sp.). We demonstrate the potentia…

Identification of functional markers of mycorrhiza efficiency in vineyard

2021

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi form a mutualistic symbiotic association with more than 80% ofland plants, including vines. Advantages of this mutualistic symbiosis are countless. Rootcolonisation by mycorrhizal fungi is mainly evaluated through staining and microscopicobservation. However those technics do not allow to differentiate different mycorrhizal fungi. In order to overcome those limits other tools, like antibodies, isoenzymes and molecular biologytechnics, can be used. Nevertheless, all of these methods “only” allow detection of the presenceof mycorrhizal fungi, whereas no information is provided on the proper mycorrhizal symbiosisfunctioning, and therefore on the benefits provided to…

Gas sensors arrays (electronic noses) : a study about the speed/accuracy ratio

2000

Abstract New Fingerprint Mass Spectra (FMS) systems claim for a higher precision, a reduced analysis time, and a lower drift, compared with Gas Sensors Arrays ‘Electronic Noses’. We demonstrated in this study that metal oxide gas sensors may have highly improved performances for both accuracy and run time, when used in optimum conditions. The different noise components were quantified referring to popular words (equivalent of ethanol concentration) using the transfer function of the sensor. It was pointed out that sample surrounding greatly affects the noise level, and that the signal-to-noise ratio may be dramatically increased, reducing the distortion generally assessed between sensor and…

Visual and acoustic techniques for motorcycle collision warning system with EEG validation

2018

In many countries, motorcyclist fatality rate is much higher than that of other vehicle drivers. Among many other factors, motorcycle rear-end collisions are also contributing to these biker fatalities. Collision detection systems can be used to minimize these fatalities. However, most of the existing collision detection systems do not identify the type of potential hazard faced by motorcyclists. Every collision warning system used a distinctive collision detection technique, which limits its performance and makes it imperative to study its effectiveness. Unfortunately, no such work has been reported in that particular domain for motorcyclists. Therefore, it is important to study the physio…

Functionnalized Surface Acoustic Wave Sensors for the Detection of Hazardous Gases

2018

International audience; In this work, we show the capabilities of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices to probe the properties of gas sensitive materials for the manufacturing of hazardous gas sensors. The great capabilities of cobalt corroles for the trapping of carbon monoxide (CO) were exploited to produce selective sensors. These corroles were deposited on SAW delay lines surfaces and then exposed to carbon monoxide (CO) in standard conditions. Concentrations of a few hundreds of ppb were measured emphasizing the interest of such sensors for the detection of CO. Another type of sensitive layers exhibiting specific porosity adapted to the trapping of formaldehyde (CH$_2$O) were deposited …

Equivalence of Open-Loop and Closed-Loop Operation of SAW Resonators and Delay Lines

2019

International audience; Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors in the form of two-port resonators or delay lines are widely used in various fields of application. The readout of such sensors is achieved by electronic systems operating either in an open-loop or in a closed-loop configuration. The mode of operation of the sensor system is usually chosen based on requirements like, e.g., bandwidth, dynamic range, linearity, costs, and immunity against environmental influences. Because the limit of detection (LOD) at the output of a sensor system is often one of the most important figures of merit, both readout structures, i.e., open-loop and closed-loop systems, are analyzed in terms of the minim…

Context-Aware Model Applied to Hog Descriptor for People Detection

2018

International audience; This work proposes and implements a method based on Context-Aware Visual Attention Model (CAVAM), but modifying the method in such way that the detection algorithm is replaced by Histograms of Oriented Gradients (HOG). After reviewing different algorithms for people detection, we select HOG method because it is a very well known algorithm, which is used as a reference in virtually all current research studies about automatic detection. In addition, it produces accurate results in significantly less time than many algorithms. In this way, we show that CAVAM model can be adapted to other methods for object detection besides Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT), as …
