To evaluate the relationship among supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias with blood pressure and heart rate (HR) values, we studied 2 groups of 20 hypertensive men with (group I) and without (group II) left ventricular hypertrophy. Ambulatory electrocardiographic tracings were recorded continuously, together with ambulatory arterial pressure. Analysis of multi-spectral photoplethysmograph biosensors

Multi-spectral photoplethysmograph biosensor intended for analysis of peripheral blood volume pulsations at different vascular depths has been experimentally tested. Light emitting diodes with four different wavelengths were used as the light emitters. A single photodiode with multi-channel signal output processing was used as the light detector. This study analyzed rising time difference between wavelengths at systole maximum, wavelengths relations between systole and diastole peak difference. The proposed methodology is discussed.

The purpose of this paper is to describe an attempt to obtain a better understanding of the dynamics of the oxygen supply of the myocardium under physiological and pathophysiological conditions by examining the oxygen diffusion in the heart muscle tissue during systole and diastole. In comparison to other organs the oxygen supply of the myocardium is characterized by a number of specific features. The most important one is that the gas exchange in the myocardium is a nonsteady-state diffusion process.

Coronary Artery Shape and Flow Changes Induced by Myocardial Bridging.

Changes in coronary shape and blood flow induced by myocardial bridging were analyzed in a 56-year-old patient with symptoms of unstable angina after the exclusion of other heart disease. Coronary angiography demonstrated a 1.8-cm long myocardial bridge in the middle part of the left anterior descending coronary artery.
