Closure to “Experimental Study of the Stage-Discharge Relationship for an Upstream Inclined Grid with Longitudinal Bars” by C. Di Stefano and V. Ferro

The discusser would like to thank the authors of the original paper for investigating the outflow process of an upstream inclined grid with longitudinal bars using the dimensional analysis and the incomplete self-similarity theory. The discusser, however, would like to add a few points. Using the theoretical analysis the authors of the original paper showed that a power equation can be used for establishing the stage-discharge equation of an upstream inclined grid with longitudinal bars. The authors of the original paper also showed that the coefficient and exponent of the power equation depend on the slope angle and the void ratio. They proposed a stage-discharge equation
New-stage discharge relationships for free and submerged sluice gates

Abstract The flow movement through a sluice gate is investigated for both free and submerged flow conditions. For free flow condition, the current dimensionless formula, indicated acceptable accuracy; while for submerged flow condition it was modified especially for low submerged condition. In this regard, Buckingham theorem along with the Incomplete Self-Similarity concept was employed and a new stage–discharge relationship was developed accordingly. Voice and Culture: A Prospect Theory Approach

The present study examines the congruence of individuals' minimum preferred amounts of voice with the prospect theory value function across nine countries. Accounting for previously ignored minimum preferred amounts of voice and actual voice amounts integral to testing the steepness of gain and loss functions explicated in prospect theory, we use curve fitting to show that ratings of procedural justice fit prospect theory's value function specifically. Amerikāņu izglītības psihologs Freds Kerlingers ir norādījis, ka politisko ideoloģiju būtu jāuztver kā multidimensionāla parādību un to atbilstoši tā arī jāmēra. Balstoties uz šo atziņu un F. Kerlingera norādījumiem šī darba mērķis ir izstrādāt un pamatot instrumentāriju liberālisma – konservatīvisma mērīšanai Latvijā. A topology-constrained distance network algorithm for protein structure determination from NOESY data.

This article formulates the multidi- mensional nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (NOESY) interpretation problem using graph theory and presents a novel, bottom-up, topology-con- strained distance network analysis algorithm for NOESY cross peak interpretation using assigned resonances. AutoStructure is a software suite that implements this topology-constrained distance net- work analysis algorithm and iteratively generates structures using the three-dimensional (3D) protein structure calculation programs XPLOR/CNS or DY- ANA.
