Stochastic resonance in magnetic systems described by Preisach hysteresis model

2005

We present a numerical study of stochastic resonance in magnetic systems described by Preisach hysteresis model. It is shown that stochastic resonance occurs in these systems. Specifically, the signal-to-noise ratio sSNRd and the signal amplification sSAd present a maximum as a function of noise intensity. We also found that the hysteresis loops, dynamically described by the system, are strongly modified near the maxima of SNR and of SA.

Calculation of size‐intensive transition moments from the coupled cluster singles and doubles linear response function

1994

Coupled cluster singles and doubles linear response (CCLR) calculations have been carried out for excitation energies and dipole transition strengths for the lowest excitations in LiH, CH+, and C4and the results compared with the results from a CI-like approach to equation of motion coupled cluster (EOMCC). The transition strengths are similar in the two approaches for single molecule calculations on small systems. However, the CCLR approach gives size-intensive dipole transition strengths, while title EOMCC formalism does not. Thus, EOMCC calculations can give unphysically dipole transition strengths, e.g., in EOMCC calculations on a sequence of noninteracting LiH systems we obtained a neg…

Design of a Compact Dual Circular-Polarized Antenna for L-Band Satellite Applications

2020

In this paper, we propose the design of a dual circular-polarized antenna for L-band applications (1.1-1.6 GHz). The designed antenna has been developed by considering crossed-dipoles on top of which a circular patch has been placed to properly act on the mutual coupling between the dipoles. The dual circular polarization is achieved by feeding dipoles in quadrature. Moreover, to increase the antenna gain and polarization purity at high elevation angles, a fence of passive monopoles has been added. The proposed antenna can profitably used as primary feed of a low-frequency parabolic reflector.

Étude des propriétés optiques et spectroscopiques de nanorods dopés au lanthanide pour des applications de nanosondes en champ proche

2022

Lanthanide-doped nanoparticles constitute a versatile family of photoluminescent local nanoprobes. In this work, we study the photoluminescence of Eu3+-doped NaYF4 nanorods characterized by highly polarized spectra. We develop a full theoretical model and paraxial approximation for nanorod dipole emission. We measure the photoluminescence of individual nanorods by fluorescence confocal microscopy and determine some of their intrinsic optical properties. We also determine the nature (electric or magnetic) and orientations of dipoles moments of the optical transitions used for nanoprobing in the visible range. In addition to the full theoretical model and the paraxial approximation, Fourier mi…

Induced Dipoles and Possible Modulation of Wireless Effects in Implanted Electrodes. Effects of Implanting Insulated Electrodes on an Animal Test to …

2021

There is evidence that Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) produces health benefits in patients even before initiating stimulation. Furthermore, DBS electrode insertion in rat infralimbic cortex (ILC) provokes antidepressant-like effects before stimulation, due to local inflammation and astrogliosis. Consequently, a significant effect of implanting electrodes is suspected. External fields, similar in magnitude to the brain’s endogenous fields, induce electric dipoles in conducting materials, in turn influencing neural cell growth through wireless effects. To elucidate if such dipoles influence depressive-like behavior, without external stimulation, the comparative effect of conducting and insulate…
