225 Comparative analysis of patients with acute coronary and cerebrovascular syndromes from the national French hospitalisation heath care system dat…
2011
ObjectiveTo compare vascular risk factor profiles and early outcomes in all French patients hospitalized for either acute coronary (ACS), or cerebrovascular syndromes (CVS), or both, between 2005 and 2008.SettingAll French hospitals.DesignRetrospective analysis.Data sourcesNational database called “Hospital Discharge Diagnosis Records”.Main outcomes measuredNumber and annual rates, vascular risk factors, and early outcome of hospitalized patients for a unique stay for ACS or CVS or for both ACV and CVS in a 2-month time window.ResultsOver the 4-year study-period, 1,189,043 patients were hospitalized for CVS and/or ACS. Among these, 638,061 (53.7%) had CVS alone, 525,419 (44.3%) had ACS alon…
Dielectric properties and partial discharge endurance of polypropylene-silica nanocomposite
2010
This paper presents the results of the dielectric properties and partial discharge endurance measurements conducted on polypropylene (PP)-silica nanocomposite. The material compounds were analyzed with micro-Raman spectroscopy, X-ray tomography and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). ac and dc breakdown strength of the materials was measured. Dielectric response, capacitance and loss factor of the film samples were measured as a function of temperature and frequency. Partial discharge (PD) endurance of the reference PP and PP Silica nanocomposite was studied as a function of ac voltage. Material surfaces were analyzed after PD stress with optical microscopy. All dielectric measurements …
Dielectric barrier discharge at the triglycine sulfate crystal surface: the role of the electric field of the domain structure
2014
Dielectric barrier discharges (DBD) at the triglycine sulfate crystal surface, generated in air under controlled gas pressure, have been investigated. Electrical characterization of these DBD discharges, produced at temperatures below as well as above the ferroelectric phase transition, are presented. The influence of the electric field of the domain structure on these DBD discharges are discussed in the frame of a model which takes into account the dynamics of the domain structure of the ferroelectric barrier under the action of an external voltage.
Structural Analysis and Photocurrent Spectroscopy of CCCs on 99.99% Aluminum
2003
A characterization of chromate conversion coatings (CCCs) formed in the presence and in the absence of accelerator (ferroferricyanide redox couple) has been performed by various techniques (transmission electron microscopy, TEM, glow discharge optical emission spectrometry, GDOES, X-ray absorption near-end structure, XANES, and photon correlation spectroscopy). The results of a detailed investigation on morphological, compositional, and solid-state properties of freshly converted aluminum samples at different immersion times (30 s-90 min) are reported. The TEM and GDOES data suggest the presence of iron-cyanide species only in the external layer of CCC of nearly constant thickness. The XANE…
Experimental evidence of E × B plasma rotation in a 2.45 GHz hydrogen discharge
2015
An experimental observation of a rotating plasma structure in a 2.45 GHz microwave-driven hydrogen discharge is reported. The rotation is presumably produced by E × B drift. The formation of the rotating plasma structure is sensitive to the strength of the off-resonance static magnetic field. The rotation frequency is on the order of 10 kHz and is affected by the neutral gas pressure and applied microwave power.
Testing the outflow theory of Malcherek by slit weir data
2018
Abstract In this paper the flow-process of a slit weir is analyzed by the outflow theory of Malcherek. Average flow velocity over the slit weir is expressed in terms of head over weir and the momentum correction coefficient. The theoretically deduced stage-discharge formula was then calibrated using experimental data obtained for a ratio between the weir and the channel width ranging from 0.05 to 0.25. The deduced stage–discharge relationship allows to measure discharge values characterized by errors which are, for 91% of the measured values, less than or equal to ± 5%.
Line Identification of Atomic and Ionic Spectra of Holmium in the Near-UV. Part I. Spectrum of Ho i
2017
The Fourier Transform spectra of a Holmium hollow cathode discharge lamp have been investigated in the UV spectral range from 25,000 up to 31,530 cm−1 (317 to 400 nm). Two Ho spectra have been measured with neon and argon as buffer gases. Based on the intensity ratios from these two spectra, a distinction was made between atomic and ionic lines (ionic lines are discussed in an accompanying paper). Using the known Ho i energy levels, 71 lines could be classified as transitions of atomic Ho, 34 of which have not been published previously. Another 32 lines, which could not be classified, are listed in the literature and assigned as atomic Ho. An additional 370 spectral lines have been assigned…
Hyperfine structure measurements of neutral niobium with Fourier transform spectroscopy
2010
Aims. We report on experimental studies of hyperfine structure splitting of neutral niobium.Methods. We used high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy to record a spectrum of niobium produced with a hollow cathode discharge lamp in the range of wavenumbers from 10 000 cm-1 to 30 000 cm-1 .Results. The magnetic dipole hyperfine structure constants A were determined for the 109 levels of odd parity by analyzing the profiles of 224 spectral lines. The A values of 57 of these level are reported for the first time.
Testing the stage-discharge relationship of a sharp crested sluice gate deduced by the momentum equation for a free-flow condition
2018
Abstract In this paper the stage-discharge relationship of a sharp crested sluice gate is deduced by applying the momentum equation for a free flow condition. The theoretically deduced stage-discharge formula was then calibrated using experimental flume data obtained in previous investigations carried out for a free-flow condition. The deduced stage–discharge relationship is characterized by a momentum coefficient which is empirically estimated by the ratio between the height of the orifice and the water depth in the section upstream the gate. The relative errors are always less than or equal to - 10% to +10% and 71.4% of the errors are less than or equal to ± 2%.
Deconvolution of the spectral line profiles for the plasma temperature estimation
2010
Abstract The Hg 253.7 nm spectral line profiles, emitted from the mercury–argon high-frequency electrodeless discharge lamps (HFEDL) have been measured by means of a high-resolution scanning Fabry–Perrot interferometer at the mercury cold spot temperature value at 20 °C, different discharge current and buffer gas values. The deconvolution procedure by means of the Tikhonov's regularization method was performed to obtain the real spectral line shape. The influence of the instrumental function and absorption, real width of the Hg 253.7 nm resonance line and temperature of the radiating atoms are obtained. The results were compared with the results of the nonlinear multiparameter mathematical …
